Need Advice...what would you do? How would you feel? (WARNING TMI)

OK, yesterday I started bleeding. Not spotting but heavy bleeding. This came out of nowhere. I finished my period two weeks ago and I am due to get it in two weeks. SO I ma like WTH???Chat Icon

I call the GYN and they said it was probably stress related. Stay off my feet last night, and if I am still bleeding call back in the morning. Well, this morning it stopped pretty much. It was like spotting. Then, an hour ago BAM! It started again. So , I call the GYN again and they told me to take a pregnancy test. Excuse me, WHAT????? A WHAT???? They told me that they do not believe I am preggo, but want me to test. I was told no more kids, I had the IUD put in, and my surgery is in two weeks. I am freaked out right now. I am scared to test, scared not to test. WTH is going on? What if I am preggo? I cannot terminate this pregnancy. I could not live with that. Yet, the risks to me are so great if I am. If I am I would have to postpone my surgery and figure this out. If I am not, i would be thankful. However, I would feel very sad like being told "no more kids" again. I am a mess right now.

Sorry I am posting so much lately and I hate being all like "poor me". I just do not know what to do. I can't tell anyone, not even DH because after being told no more kids, me testing will bring up a TON of emotional stuff for me, him, and our families.

ETA: those of you on paragaurd IUD, did this ever happen to you? I have had it for 5 months and this is the first time this has happened.

It is possible that it's your period again. Your body is still getting back to normal and may still be in "shedding" mode. I wouldn't worry and just take a test to make yourself feel better.

Thank you.
Do you mean getting back to normal a year after I gave birth? How long does it take to get to normal again?

Yikes! I can understand that your stress level must be through the roof right now. You may as well just take the test--you could be stressing over nothing! Good luck...let us know how things turn out. Chat Icon

You're right. I will test later today. I just did not need this right now, ya know?

Chat Icon With the IUD, the chances that your pregnant are very, very slim. I've had my IUD in for almost a year, and there are times when things would just get wacky out of no where. I am sure that's what's happening. I hope its just the IUD, please test and let us know! Chat Icon

Wacky, like bleeding in between cycles?

If this is the norm, then I feel much better. The GYN thought the same thing. Then, in the next sentence started in with all of this preggo stuff and I flipped.

Is it possible that it is just a really short cycle. I had that happen last year. My normal cycles are fairly short to begin with 23-25 days, but this was day 18. I initially though it was spotting but it lasted 3-4 days and then 25 days later I had a normal cycle. I was told to keep track of it and come in if it happens more than twice a year. My gyno really believed it was hormonal.
