still stick..need advice (tmi)

i am stil really sick, what started out as a sore throat, has now morphed into 2 days of fever, body aches, sore throat, and congestion that is literally making me throw up cause the phlem is making it soo hard to breathe..i have been tkaing tylenol duing the day to aide the fever/pain but its barely helping and vicks to help my chest but i am still dying over here... do u think its worth me going to the dr tomorrow or should i keep doing what im doing? any recommendations would really be helpful especially for the phlem (sp?) in my throat, this hacking is killing me

I would definitely go to the DR.
In the meantine get some Robitussin- decongestant/ expectorant or some Mucinex.

Defintiely head to the doctor!!! It sounds like you need antibiotics and a stronger cough medicine.

Try sleeping with your head propped up, that might help a little.

Go to the doctor! You could have a bacterial infection that really needs antibiotics. Feel better!

GO the the DR. You dont want to get llike walking pnenonmia(sp?) or somethign worse. Get a nice strong cough med!

Another vote for the doctor. When I got like that I used Mucinex for the congestion. In the end, it was walking pneumonia. I needed an antiobiotic among a slew of other medication. Took about 2 weeks before I felt better.

Go tot he doc, Michi. This is what I had during May, and when i say during may, I mean for the MONTH of May. I wish i ahd seen teh doc sooner. I had the same symptoms. I coughed so hard I ahced all over and threw up. it was AWFUL. I'm so sorry you have the same thing. I got much better once I went to the doctor. He gave me a strong anti-biotic and a cough medicine with codeine that helped me to sleep through the night, which was ESSENTIAL in getting better.

What also helped me were nebulizer treatemtns, both at the doctor's office (my doc is really into alternative medicine, they do neb treatments with colloidal silver, which is a natural anti-biotic, and so when you breathe it in, it's in your lungs right at the source) and at home (I have a neb at home b/c I'm asthmatic). I don't know if your doc offers it. Also, just keep pushing the fluids.

And the best OTC medicine I took was Tylenol Severe Cold & Flu Liquid. it seemed to be the msot effective. Better than Nyquil, etc.

My doctor is open 7 days and late nights if you need a doc in Queens(It's not far from where Don and Boosh live). I like them there because they will do both alternative and conventional medicine and for me that works better.

ETA: When I was sick last month it was walking penumonia, and I NEEDED an anti-biotic.
