Need ASAP Home Comp Help
Hey All,
So yesterday all of a sudden after a year of having the computer, we start getting pop-ups and a spyware software program keeps popping up and it removed about wallpaper. I blame DH being he goes on sites that I'm sure are bad (unlike my gmail, ebay & LIF).
Anyway, I do a mcagree scan every month. My mom says to get Nortons anti-virus. How much do they run? I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but I do want to catch the problem early. Any help greatly appreciated

You are going to have to have your computer formated, first they will save all your files, and then clean your computer, and then put everything back on.

What is the name of the program that pops up. I would install ad aware. it's free and will clear out spyware. You can fm me if you want. It would probably be easier for you to explain the issue there.

Before you go and dust your computer.
Do not switch to Norton if you have MACCAFFEE. Norton is not as good of a program. Just make sure your virus protector is up to date. If not pay to update it.
Install
Lavasoft adware
Install
Spybot Search and Destroy
Run both of these programs
Clean out your cookies...
Clean out your History
Clean out TMP Files etc.
Start - Programs - Accessories - Disk Cleanup.
After that is done defrag your hard drive which is found on the same menu.
If you are still having a problem, FM me. I have a friend that has a PC repair business and they are always around MAssapequa.

If its the virus i think it is, none of these programs will work.
My father just got a bad virus, it installed itself on his computer, and someone at the office formatted and its running great. He had all the virus protection but these viruses are nasty.
I am also the queen of viruses, i get them all the time, and no matter how many scans are run, once it installs, i had one called
winantispyware2007, it was awful, and my comp had to be formatted

Formatting is a last resort.
