need car advice for twins
ok ladies, i need some advice. When I found out I was pregnant with twins, I went out and bought a Honda CR-V. Now that Ethan finally just came home, we are realizing that we need a bigger car. The CR-V fits both of the car seats in the back without a problem, but when Ethan is in the car he needs to have someone in the back with him bc he may need to have his trach suctioned. I barely fit between the car seats and am small (well not that small anymore after having twins, haha). Anyone slightly bigger than me definitely can't fit (i.e. Ethan's private nurse, DH)
I was hoping you ladies could tell me what cars you have and if they would fit 2 car seats and a person in the back.
Thanks!

I have an Acadia. I've sat between the two carseats as well as DH and my sister and we all fit fine. It does also have the third row so in your case someone could sit there too if they didn't want to be between both car seats and still be able to tend to your DS.

When I got pregnant with the twins I already had a DS. We bit the bullet and went with a minivan (Toyota Sienna). AS much as I didn't want to go to a minivan we didn't really have a choice. And now that we've had it a little over a year I'm actually starting to love it. Super roomy. Lots of space for storage. Drives well. Has great safety ratings, etc.

We bought a honda odyssey, pre owned., and are so happy with it!!! We have the car seats behind the drivers and passengers and we have both sat comfortably between. However, from the 3rd row you can access the kids in the second row very easily, If the person tending the kids is larger. The only thing is that you have to get in before the last carseat goes in.
Having a vehicle that size has been wonderful!!! We fit everything conformably.

My husband was pushing for a minivan and I wanted some kind of SUV, but I caved and we got the Odyssey. We LOVE it! It's amazing for the twins. We call it our mobile home. We have a perfect spot to change them in the back when one of the seats is out. I have plenty of room to nurse and pump. We can be out all day with all of our stuff and we're always comfortable.
Maybe not what I wanted, but it really is perfect.

I would agree, look into a minivan. I never thought we would have one but we do now and it works well, its very convenient with the kids.
Before that I had a Chevy trailblazer, and i had 3 carseats in it. So i think a 3rd person would fit.

We also got the Toyota Sienna. We bought it at Smithtown Toyota and we negotiated an amazing price on a 2012 in Sept 2011.
I also was not into the minivan thing, but once we started looking at the size truck/SUV we would need, price-wise you cannot beat a minivan! We got the semi-loaded Sienna (leather, heated seats, sunroof, power everything) for $34k I believe?

Re: need car advice for twins
thanks for the suggestions ladies! I am really trying to avoid the mini-van route, but we'll see what happens. DH and I are gonna go looking at cars this weekend.

I had a Ford Edge before my minivan. And I'm being honest, it was my favorite of all my cars but I do not believe you'd fit 2 car seats plus a person in the back comfortably. Maybe while they are in the infant carriers, but definitely not when they get into the larger convertible car seats.

I agree we have a ford edge and just got the town and country minivan. We will have 3 but even with just one in te ford edge it was tight with all the stuff kids need. Def not roomy enough for twins.
The town and country is awesome- pretty cool for a mini!
