Have your Oil Company look at it first before you do anything. I heard Chimney Cleaning can be the biggest scam.

Do not use Irish Chimney's or Irish sweeps whatever their name is.
They are the ones who left my flue open and a huge squirrel got into my house.
Thank God, I just put DC's up for a nap as they were both on the floor of that room 5 minutes before

Oh really...the oil company can check. We don't have a fire place...we have the chimney that serves to be an exhaust (I think ) for the boiler. The chimney is making weird noises

We used Chimney Doctors and were so happy with them - linky
We had to have a LOT of work done to our chimney when we first bought the house and these guys came in with the lowest estimate out of 5 companies and they were the most professional.
