need clothing size help for 5 year old boy

I am sending cuddl duds fleece robes for part of a Christmas gift this year to nieces and nephews. My order arrived and I bought the 4-6 size for the 5 year old boy because after that size, it seems to jump up to an 8-10. Anyway, it looks small to me. The next size up is an 8/10 and I'm thinking that would be too large. Thoughts if you still have little ones in the house. Thanks.

I'd rather larger so it will fit more than one season.
Plus with a robe, it's notba big deal if it's a bit oversized.
I'd go with the larger size

I have a boy and every brand is a little different. He's older but he's currently in different sizes for different brands.

Did they have a size chart? You could also check reviews - sometimes people say how items fit.

But I agree going larger probably can't hurt.

I have a 6 year old who is 95th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight. He is a solid 6/7. He would be swimming in an 8/10.

I just saw it’s a robe. I’d size up then.

Size up. I bought my daughter a size 14 robe when she was eight and now at 11 it still fits.

Fleece clothes is pretty roomy and tend to run big. If the child is 5, I’d stick with the 4-6 size robe.

Thanks for you input everyone. I ordered it from Kohls so I will stop in this week and take a look at the larger size. It's so weird that they don't sell an in between size. Thanks again.
