Need creative help-- centerpiece ideas for DD's b-day party
I'm drawing a blank about how to implement what I want so I turn to you
DD's 3rd b-day party; in our backyard; informal but I usually go all-out on themes; theme is rainbow; my plan is a different color solid primary color tablecloth on each table. Want to do a grouping of balloons on each table (1 each red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple); also want to do whirly pops (pictured) in there too.
Still debating between doing just 1 big whirly pop in each centerpiece or a few big ones, or a few small ones. I'll definitely be giving them out to the kids as part of favors too.
DD also LOVES these rainbow cookies from the local bakery (they're sugar cookies with rainbow sprinkles all over them, we get them each week after gymnastics), I'd love to incorporate them into the centerpieces too. They make small size cookies or large ones (bread plate size).
So....thoughts? Do the 6 balloons tied to something (what????) that's holding whirly pop/s (just 1 or many?) and rainbow-sprinkle cookies (again, just 1 or a few)?
Help!! What the heck do I put this stuff in to fit the theme? And cheap and easy is best of course!
ETA: If you have other ideas for the theme, you can share those too!

I'd do clear jars filled with Skittles (taste the rainbow!) and stick the lollis in them as the centerpiece. I'd probably try to tie the balloons to the jars too.
I'd do plates of the cookies separately.

You are a GENIUS!!! LOVE that idea!!!
How do you think Skittles & the lollipops will hold up in the heat? Party is at 3pm in our *mostly* shaded backyard July 3rd.
Any ideas on where to get the glass jars cheap? I only need 4 of them I think.
Thank you!!!!!!!
Would you try to layer the skittles or mix them? I could totally see me driving myself mad and sorting the colors so I could layer them

Maybe you can ask the bakery to make the cookies into cookie pops this way you can alternate between the lollypops and the cookies.

I love the skittles idea too.
If you are worried about heat what about layering colored sand or fish tank gravel in the fish bowl?

If you purchase mason jars like this:
You could spray paint the tops different colors, fill them with skittles, and poke a hole in the top...then insert a lollipop (or rainbow cookie on a stick), then use them as the cp's...

I think that Jack will be eating your centerpieces before anyone even gets to see them

Re: Need creative help-- centerpiece ideas for DD's b-day party
This is TOTALLY not what you are asking , but my BFF was just telling me about a b-day cake she had this past week-end at her nieces party..
It was a rainbow cookie CAKE ! She said it was outrageous...I think the bakery was in St.James/Smithtown'ish area

Re: Need creative help-- centerpiece ideas for DD's b-day party
What if instead of skittles you use starburst or jolly ranchers so that it doesn't get so sticky..........
You can get different kinds of starbursts (tropical, regular, berry) to get the different colors.

Re: Need creative help-- centerpiece ideas for DD's b-day party
I have vases you can have (I am cleaning out my house and these are brand new left over from my wedding). Not sure how many but I think at least 6 are new in box. Might be too big though. Its this vase (ignore the fish and plant)

what if.... you get the bigger vase (like the one another poster had left from her wedding) Put a weight in the bottom with the balloons tied to it - fill it with skittles (to hide the weight) and stick a few lollipops around it (like in the pic above) still minus the feathers, but that would be where the balloon strings would come out of.
Does that make sense ???
