Need gift ideas for newly pregnant ...
I have a two very close friends that recently told me that they're pregnant. One is about 10 weeks, and they other is just over 12 weeks, but neither has officially announced their pregnancies. I want to get them little gifts, but I know they're a little superstitious and wouldn't want anything for the baby yet. A few things I was considering are cute maternity blouses, aroma therapy and lotions (including anti-stretch mark ... these are some of my closest friends so it won't be weird ...).
Thoughts? Do you ladies have any suggestions for gifts you would have liked in the first trimester?

all i wanted to do was sleep in the first tri 
you know what i always wanted but didn't get? the burt's bees stuff that they make for expectant mothers. i think that would make a great gift!

How about a fun pregnancy book. The Jenny McCarthy book is great, or the Girlfriend's Guide by Vicki Iovine

Some gifts that I received from friends and family when I found I was pregnant were:
* Pregnancy Journal
* Baby 1st Book
* A Pregnant teddy bear thats wearing a shirt that says "Mamma to Be"
* A medical journal for the baby
* Pregnancy Books
* Childrens Books
* Some clothes
* Frame for the sonograms

i wouldn't get them something for the baby. i would get them a mani/pedi gift certificate that they could use to make them feel better when they start to get all swollen. save the baby gifts for the baby IMO

the aromatherapy/lotions sound really nice, bubble bath stuff etc...
Another idea is some books-the Jenny McCarthy one I found to be really funny

I gave this to someone I think of as a close friend...
I figured itd be neat to keep track of all those feelings and moments in the beginning (especially since she can use it as a outlet before she tells ppl)
Unfortunately for my friend it backfired and I feel horrible about it.
Still I think it was a good gift.

preggie pops would be great and maybe some nipple cream I used aquaphore they hurt so much in the beginning...

Thanks for all of the suggestions ladies! I'm a little worried about the back-firing thing as a friend of mine did have a m/c at 13 weeks, so maybe I'll wait until everyone is past the 1st tri-mester before giving any gifts.

try a dinner for her and her hubby or just her and Significant Other.
Say its like taking her out to dinner but just for her and her whatever...
Food is always a nice gift and if she's got m/s she can hold it until later..
Its safe too can't exactly backfire.
Just a thought

I wouldn't get books unless you know they don't have any. I got books from a friend, but I had already bought some as soon as I got my BFP and didn't need any more.
Here are some ideas I like: belly oil/massage, a gift certificate for a prenatal massage, subscription to a pregnancy or parenting magazine, picture frame for sonograms, pregnancy journal.

I agree... my friend received a bella band when she was 4 weeks pregnant and said she was superstitious and uncomfy about receiving it so early on....
she later miscarried  now the bella band is a reminder...
definitely do something luxurious and not necessarily pregnancy related... although dinner out might not be a good idea if they start to have M/S

Sounds like they're pretty far enough along to start getting some gifts.
Some cute gifts I've gotten:
*baby/children's books
*pregnancy journal
*sonogram pic frames - I have one at work, and one at home.
*GC to Old Navy and Gap to buy maternity clothes - very appreciated, as I can really buy anything there!
