Need good crock-pot receipes
I made a few things in my crock-pot, and they have all been blah...I followed the receipes exactly!
The only thing that I have made that is awesome are these baby-back ribs that someone posted on here....I have made them a few times already.
I need some really good receipes! Please share your favorites! Thanks.

Re: Need good crock-pot receipes
I never have luck with meat dishes (besides the baby back ribs) all my chicken and beef roasts come out dry.
I highly recommend stews and chilis though.. you can't mess those up in a crockpot!

Re: Need good crock-pot receipes
this one is great I let is cook even longer after I put the cream cheese in so the chicken falls apart. I think I may have gotten this recipe here years ago.
Crockpot Chicken W/ Black Beans and Cream Cheese 4-5 boneless chicken breasts 1 can black beans 1 can corn 1 jar salsa , any kind 1 package cream cheese 1. Take 4-5 frozen, yes, frozen, boneless chicken breasts put into Crockpot. 2. Add 1 can of black beans, drained, 1 jar of salsa, 1 can of corn drained. 3. Keep in Crockpot on high for about 4-5 hours or until chicken is cooked. 4. Add 1 package of cream cheese (just throw it on top!) and let sit for about 1/2 hour. 5. All done and enjoy!
4 servings 4 hours 3 minutes (3 mins prep time, 4 hours cook time)

Re: Need good crock-pot receipes
Here are a few good ideas from a post I saved recently. I've made the stuffed peppers I posted about 5 times lately, and they really are delicious!!

Re: Need good crock-pot receipes
I recently made chicken fajitas in my crockpot, I just followed the recipe on the packet of fajita seasoning, if I did it again I would just cut down the amount of water, there was a little too much liquid, because it slow cooked, the liquid didn't reduce enough...but the chicken was sooo tender.

Re: Need good crock-pot receipes
i LOVE making pot roast in mine. just get a 3-4 pound pot roast bag of baby carrots a couple potatoes an onion some beef broth
Put the roast in the crock pot, add the bag of baby carrots ( these are great cause you don't even need to spend time cutting up big carrots!), cut up the potato and onion and add those all in. put in about 2 cups of beef broth, and maybe a little chopped garlic or whatever other dried spices you want. cook for 8 hours... YUM!!! AND, since its just DH and i, we usually get 2 meals out of this. so i save the leftovers and reheat them in the oven a couple nights later.
ANOTHER ONE: chicken cacciatore a couple boneless chicken breasts an onion cut up a cubanelle (medium spicy) pepper cut up a bell pepper cut up a 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes just throw it all in the crockpot and cook for 6-8 hours. the chicken breaks up and becomes more like a chili, so i usually serve it over elbow noodles or rice

Re: Need good crock-pot receipes
I have a question for all the crock pot cooks, I have used mine a few times, followed recipes, but still always seems to end up with what I consider to be a lot of liquid. Am I doing something wrong, or is this soupy consistency just the way crock pot meals are suppose to be??

often you only need a little water in the recipes. With the crockpot you need to remember it's not like cooking on the stove...the water does not evaporate.

Re: Need good crock-pot receipes
I make things up for my recipes.
For Pork cutlets:
Pork Cutlets (can be frozen) Cut up some potatoes Cut some carrots Make 2 cups of beef gravy and put it in.
Cook on high for 5 hours. Came out delish!
Portk Roast:
Pork roast-sprinkle top with onion powder, salt and pepper Potatoes Brown gravy
Cook 9 hours on low if you leave it on during work. Came out very tender!
