Need help - infant wellness visit calendar

I just got a bill from my pediatrician. Our insurance co. CHANGED their policy for 2009 -- only ONE well visit per person per calendar year -- despite the fact that DD just turned 2.

So I am trying to fight this policy by providing some kind of official document that recommends well visits every 3 months for the first 2 years, and then every 6 months up to 4.

Anyone have anything or know where I can find this? I've been searching on the American Academy of Pediatrics web site but haven't found anything yet.

This really makes my blood boil!!!

I have never heard of that schedule. I know with both of my kids peds. they went at 12 mos, 18 mos, 2 years and then only once per year after that.

We got 3 well visits in our 2nd year - 12 months, 15 months and 18 months and then it is one a year after that. We also scheduled the 2 year visit for after she turned 2 b/c that it what the doctors office said to do to be covered. Same with the 3 year visit, it had to be AFTER she turned 3 for insurance to cover.

ETA: Kara, did you go before her actual birthday b/c that would put you over one visit according to what my ped told me.

ONE well visit per calendar year. The first 2 years my DD went every 3 months -- wellness and shots.

Anway we spoke to HR at DH's work since it is their own policy, and it is a mistake. She is covered.

Thank you anyway....I did ask my ped. but he said they don't have anything official, just to print out the CDC vaccination schedule, which I sent to HR.
