Recommendations for infant sling/carrier
We live on the 2nd floor of my parents house. It's not a separate apartment, just separate bedrooms.
I know when my DS is born, I'll be going up and down the stairs a lot, and I think I'll feel more comfortable with him in a sling, close to me, as opposed to just carrying him in one arm as I go up and down the stairs.
Can anyone recommend a good sling or infant carrier? It will really be for indoor use for me to wear, so I don't need anything fancy or "pretty" looking.
We registered for an infant carrier that my DH will wear for outings and such. But for now I'm looking for something that will be secure and comfy for my little one.
Thanks!

Re: Recommendations for infant sling/carrier
I have a pocket sling from Kangaroo Korner. GREAT when she was little and I still use it 4.5 months. I can even put her in it and nurse her and still get stuff done (if you are nursing its a great thing)
You can use it all the way up until toddlerhood (you can hip carry in it and back carry)
For an older baby I'm looking to get either a becko or angel pack carrier. She likes to be front carried facing forward which I can't comfortable do now with the pocket sling.

Re: Recommendations for infant sling/carrier
i am usually a penny-pinching mommy but a splurged on a peanut shell sling for DS. it held him close when he was a newborn and now that he is 9.5 months old i can use it to hold him on my hip without killing my back and shoulders.
i could have chosen a size small, but i went with the medium because i wanted to use it as he got older, and that worked out perfectly for me.
we have used the baby bjorn but IMO it's not as easy to use and DS is not as comfortable in it.

DS and I loved the bjorn. It would soothe him if I carried him around when I vacuumed or did other stuff around the house. When he was older I got a hotsling to use when I held him on my hip but I didnt find it that comfortable. I need to look for something new when DD arrives in Sept.
