Need help booking Dutch Wonderland Vacation

We would like to go to Dutch Wonderland and the surrounding area for 3 days in late August. Can someone give me the "411" on where to stay, any deals/coupons on admission, and anything else you think I should know. I haven't booked a vacation in a while and I feel lost and overwhelmed when looking online.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

BTW I have two DC - a 4 yo and a 4 mo.

Thanks Chat Icon

Re: Need help booking Dutch Wonderland Vacation

we are going also around that time.We are going Tuesday-Thursday. but we are not sure about Dutch Wonderland. We are going to heading to Sesame place after. Check the website
hotel-guides.us
I actually got the raddison in Langhorne for less that $90 a night

they have some great deals.. There are plenty of hotels.. we are acutally staying at a sleep in about 10 min from Lancaster because we needed a suite and when we called them directly they were so much cheaper than what we were getting quoted online

Also go to Tripadvisor.com they can give you some insights from what other travelers thought of the hotels and such

also choicehotels.com is the web site for Days inn. Quality Inn. Econolodge, etc....

Have a blast!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Lancaster which is right next to the visitors center. I believe they have coupons etc. The Hampton Inn had a heated out door pool and was very clean, large room, great hotelChat Icon

There is a ton of outlet shopping there. We went to Kitchen Kettle Village which has cute Amish shops, farm animals to pet, and the BEST bakes goods.

A few years ago, before DS, we also did an Amish tour that was great.

We were just there last month - it was great!

We stayed at the Amish View Inn - we needed a large suite which they have. BEAUTIFUL HOTEL! one of the newer ones and just perfect. Indoor pool, free gourmet breakfast each AM, beautiful quiet grounds, etc.

We spent 4 nights, 3 days there, did DW for 1.5 days, went to Strasburg for the trains & buggy ride the other 1/2 day and shopped locally the other.

We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites right across the street from Dutch Wonderland. It is a beautiful hotel. Clean, friendly, great location. Great delux coninental breakfast. Highly Recommend! You can get coupons for $2 off from Dunkin Donuts. If you go to Dutch after 4 or 5 p.m. you pay Twilight admission.

Have fun!

We stay at the Best Western Eden Resort.

www.edenresort.com

Love it. The new 2 room Queen suites are beautiful. They also have residential suites with full kitchens. Indoor and outdoor pool and very clean.

Highly reccomend it.

At Country Inn & Suites micro and fridge are included only in the "suite" rooms, not regular rooms, although I think you can pay extra for them.

Re: Need help booking Dutch Wonderland Vacation

Try the Bird in hand family inn.
We went July 13th - 16th. It's practically around the block from the DW. I go to Lancaster every year or every other year and have stayed at many many hotels there . The Eden resort in is nice, but more money than the Bird in hand and the eden is right on the back of a major highway which can be noisy. Also, the bird in hand has so much more for kids than any other place in the area. You can sit out front and watch the horse and buggies go by, something my kids really really loved.
The Birdi n hand is situated on a lake and has two really cool mini golf courses.
It hastwo indoor pools and one beautiful big outdoor pool. The rooms have fridges in them but i dont remember if it had a microwave. There is a restauraunt and a playground. The playgroudn has 3 or 4 different playgrounds in wood and are made from the Amish. Has a basketball court adn a petting zoo. There are two buildings, the front older motel style building which you drive your car right up to or the main pool building. I have stayed in both buildings and while the pool building is newer, i liked being able to sit out in front of the room at night and in the early morning, something you can't do in the pool building. The rate is about 25 dollars cheaper in the front building also. There is also a game room. You can get the tickets for DW cheap if you have all three items from cable ( computer, phone and cable) if you go to optimum rewards.com and sign up for that, you can get the tickets for 5.00 off.
If you have any other questions let me know.
I don't have the direct website to the bird in hand family inn but its easy to find if you google it.
Also forgot to mention there is a farmers market right next door and a few farm stands right down the street. Some other good restaurants right ther are the good and plenty and plain and fancy.
