Need help concerning jobs/school...

I need to go back to school for something. I don't even have an Associate's Degree, but there is absolutely nothing that interests me. I used to do Graphic Design and Desktop Publishing but I don't have the time and the money to invest in that so that's why I've been doing Administrative Assistant type work. I really need to get more skills or something because I am going nowhere with my job and don't see me doing anything with it. I'm feeling really down about my job situation. Either for what I do they only want to pay $11-12 per hour or I don't have enough experience. I'm really stuck and need to get out so bad! Please help, what can I do? Any suggestions? Oh... I live in NC by the way!

I would get into sales or something. You will get a base, have a more independent schedule and make commissions. I would then use your design experience on the side. Check out guru.com. You can apply for things like that.

what feels rewarding to you?
what are the most important things in a job to you?
what would you absolutely NOT want to do?
what comes easy to you?
what challenges you?
would you rather have routine or be challenged daily?


i know you said that absolutely nothing interests you, but i really think that thats impossible. I think that you just need to explore more options than whats just in front of you, and not allow yourself to feel defeated because the answer isn't perfectly clear and staring you in the face. There's tons of resources on-line... maybe try taking one of those work/personality tests to help start you in the right direction?

you can make a ton doing graphic design work... im not sure what you mean that you dont have the time or money to invest in that... i used to do freelance graphic design for a company that laid me off and it was very worth the $$!!

now i do wedding graphics and such, and it is a nice way to suppliment my day job...
