La Marmite in New Hyde Park or La Pace in Glen Cove. Both are great! They both have cocktail hour and then a sit down meal.

Ang, I recently had my sisters shower at City Cafe in Garden City. They had a niec selection of Italian Food, and the room was GORGEOUS!! Nice rich reds...very classy.
Anyway, I highly recommend them!

Re: Need Help Finding Italian Restaurants in Nassau for an Event
I had my engagement party at Stressa (in Manhasset - never been to Stressa East). It was wonderful - very nice with a passed horsdorvers and cocktail hour and sit down meal. They will rent out the restaurant for lunches and I think dinners. We rented it for a Saturday luncheon for 40 people.
Seventh Street Cafe - the food used to be really good it isn't as good as it used to be but it is still good.
There is also Calegros in Garden City - I bet they would rent out the restaurant for a party that size.

there is a new place in Massapequa called cafe toscano ( i think) on broadway. We had a luncheon for a co-worker there a few weeks ago & it is a nice place with good, reasonably priced food.

Spumante in East Meadow (where Fukadaya was) ... unfortunate location (in front of the Coliseum Motor Inn) but AWESOME food.
We have our holiday gathering there every year ... this year in the party room upstairs (which I only saw briefly so don't know really about the "decor").
My shower was there--and I agree bad location but good food.

Buongusto or Diane's in Roslyn-both have excellent food! Diane's has a bakery right next door with amazing treats!
