Need help from the other poor teachers on the board
And I mean literally poor, as in no money.
I have a job I LOVE teaching in a Catholic school, but we are having major money problems due to the massive debt we have from when I was in school. We have decided that we (DH & I) both need to do something part time to bring in some extra money, but do to the fact that we have young children, this is easier said than done. Can anyone recommend some "work form home" oppurtunities for teachers they are aware of, or anything of that kind? We are REALLY desperate, but I wanted to find something teacher related to do since at least I can put that on my resume. If I can't find anything like that, it's off to waiting tables I go
Thanks in advance

try asking your neighbors if they know anyone who would need tutoring.

I tutor through my school district. Can you coach?

Coach as in a sport? No... I have no athletic ability whatsoever.
I would love to tutor, it just has to be something I can do in my home. No parent is going to pay $50 an hour to bring their kid to my house. I did contact Sylvan because they do an online tutoring thing that you can do from your home.
Thanks, everyone, for the help.

you would be surprised how much you can get tutoring... teachers in my district get anywhere from $60 to $75 an HOUR for tutoring... usually we go to the home or have the kid meet us at a neutral place like the library.
i would definitely advertise it....also, perhaps contact your local school district... they often collect names for when parents call requesting tutors.

you'd be surprised with tutoring.... sad as it is, there are some people would rather not have their kid at their house for an hour or two and would rather drop them off to you....try it!
