Need Help Housebreaking--Don't know what's the problem CORRECTION!!
CORRECTION: SHE IS 1.5 YEARS OLD NOT MONTHS
I need help housebreaking my dog. Dobbie about 1.5 months old. Got her when she was a pup.
We have a very regimented schedule with her and I don't understand why there are still accidents.
She is crate trained and crated when we leave and sleep.
She is having accidents when we are gone or someone is away from her. I think she has anxiety issues and is scared of everything. So scaredy cat + anxiety.
We take her out on a leash every single time so she is watched for pooping and peeing. She poops twice a day. And then every couple of months, she'll poop in her crate overnight or while we were gone to the store. Mind you, she already went (poop & pee). Or I'll take her out and she poops and pees. I go downstairs to do laundry. I hear her whining and come up and there's pee or poo somewhere.
Also no medical issues, worms etc.
What is going on? She's driving me nuts!!

I'm surprised she goes to the bathroom in her crate so often! Do you think maybe the crate is too big for her?

If the pup is 6 weeks old this is absolutely par for the course. I tell my clients that it will likely be six months before a small breed dog really "figures it out".
No training regimen will speed this process up for a dog that isn't ready. It's would be like trying to get an infant out of diapers.
Be patient. Things will fall into place. Puppyhood is a challenge.

I was just thinking this. When coco was little we had a pillow in the back of a small crate so she didn't have room to use it as a bathroom.

Sorry, see you have a doberman. This is good, things will improve even sooner then if she was a small breed.

I assumed she meant to say the dog is 1.5 years, not months since she said she got the dog when it was a pup.

I was thinking the same thing. If she is going in her crate she has too much room. My dog trainer is a big advocate of dogs earning their freedom to have full run of the house. If she is going to the bathroom in the house she has too much freedom. I would keep her confined to a small area until she proves that she is TOTALLY house broken. Are you feeding her anything different on the days she is having accidents? I know on the days my dog goes to training he often needs to have an additional walk because of the food and water he gets at dog school.

To help kinda figure out why she is pooping "extra" we have eliminated ALL treats other than her daily food. She is fed only once per day. I have now also taken away her "edible" chewies too. Still doing it. At loss....
Also, her crate is actually too small now but I am not getting a new one until we figure this out b/c that's what everyone says...is the crate too big? And when they see it, they say the crate is too small for her.
I have friends who keep their dogs in crates big enough to put two of the same type of dog in and they don't have this problem.

Does she let you know when she has to go out? Maybe switch your focus and try to positively reinforce her behavior for asking and going to the bathroom outside.
It is possible that some days she may just have to go more than others.
