Need help on making Sausage and Peppers...
What is the best way to make them in the oven? Should I boil them first? How long does it take to cook in the oven and what temp should the oven be on?

Re: Need help on making Sausage and Peppers...
I either grill the sausages on the grill or broil them in the oven first....until they are partically cooked.
I either cut them up in pices or leave them whole, cut up the pepper and onions, put them all n a baking dish, toss them with a bit of olive oil and some seasonings. cooking the oven until the sausage is fully cooked and the onions and peppers are cooked.

I asked my mom and she said to boil them first in a frying pan. That's what she does.
I already cut up the peppers and onions. And i'm also planning on cooking some white rice. In addition to the Olive oil,What kind of seasonings should I put on the peppers and onions? Salt & Pepper?

Re: Need help on making Sausage and Peppers...
I fry them up with onions and peppers. Seasonings are usually, pepper, garlic, oregeno, basil and crushed red pepper.
That's if I'm using them on a hoagie roll.
If not, then I toss them in a pot of sauce and eat them with linguine..

Re: Need help on making Sausage and Peppers...
First I saute the onions and peppers in the frying pan and par-boil the sausage. Then I put the onions and peppers in an alluminum pan and fry the sausage in the pan that the veggies were in. Then I put the sausage in with the veggies, throw in some tomato sauce (homemade of course ) and put it in the oven for 40 minutes or so. At that point, if you have enough sauce in there, you really can't over cook.

Re: Need help on making Sausage and Peppers...
I know this isn't a traditional sausage and peppers recipe but I've made this a few times and it's really good. I did boil the sausage first and you can also use less sauce, I had way too much left over using the recommended amount
Sausage and Peppers
Ingredients - 8 (4 ounce) links fresh italian sausage -1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce -2 red peppers, seeded and sliced into strips -1 onion, sliced
Directions - Poke a fork hole in the italian sausage links and boil for 20 minutes
-Place the Italian sausage links, spaghetti sauce, red pepper and onion into a slow cooker. Stir to coat everything in sauce. Cover, and cook on Low for 6 hours. Serve on hoagie rolls, or over rice.

Re: Need help on making Sausage and Peppers...
Wow... so many different ways to make them!
I put them in the oven in a pan that is partially filled with water until they are cooked through. Meanwhile I fry a ton of Cubanelle peppers, a couple of cut up Large White onions and about 2 small hot peppers in a large pot with olive oil, a few cloves of garlic and some salt and pepper. When the sausages are cooked, I slice them and throw them and all the juice from the pan into the pepper mixture and stir it up good. It is simple - but fantastic.
I don't use red sauce for mine. I just eat them plain or put them on toasted Italian bread. Yum.
