NEED HELP- QUICK!! Faint line after 10 minutes UPDATE
Ok...So I took a HPT this afternoon, it was a BFN. I left it on my vanity and about 10minutes I went back (didnt realize I didnt throw it away) and it there was a faint line.
I am assuming that it is false and too much time has passed
Nice torture trick by the company of these tests!!!!
Am I correct---any line that appears after 10 min is invalid???
The thing that confuses me is that I have taken HPT before and I always go back and check 10 min, 30 min, 1 hr later and they always remain BFN.
This time I legitimately forgot to throw it away.
Update- 10/28- so I checked again this morning with FMU but and the same thing happened only this time I took note of the time and it was about 5 min. The line is very light, I mean VERY faint. I used the same brand test again but I think I will buy a better test today and check tonight. I am sooooo confused!
I just bought First Response PT. How is that? I was going to get the digital but I didn't miss AF yet, so I was afraid I needed higher HcG for the digital brand.

how long did you wait to see the HPT before you walked away? Did you give it about 3 minutes before you walked away?

repeat the test and wait the full 3 minutes.

I was going to but I only have one more in the house AND now it definately will be diluted. Maybe I will wait until later tonight. I am guessing it is a BFN though bc it is VERY faint and it took 10 min

What kind of test was it? Technically, it's not positive if it took longer than 10 minutes to come up, BUT I personally would feel it was a very good sign of what is to come in a few days!

YOu are not an idiot! I have had a very similar experience. It happened with a dollar gen test. I waited a day, tested with a FRER, and it was a BFP! I hope that's what happens for you!

This is what happened to me the month I had my chemical pregnancy. I've heard of others getting BFP's that stick after something like this, though, so I think it's a good sign! Test tomorrow with FMU.

Okay, well it's still early.
I'd definitely suggest waiting another day and testing tomorrow with FMU.
Did you mention the brand? I've heard that blue dye tests often have evap lines. In my personal experience, I've tested with FRER maybe like.. A MILLION times! And I've looked at the tests hours and days later and have never even seen a hint of another line.

Basically, an evaporation line is a line that shows up in the test due to evaporation of the urine. The urine dries and leaves a faint, colorless line.
One major difference between and evap line and a true BFP is the color. Evap lines are gray or colorless usually.

An evap line is a kind of colorless line that can show up after the test dries. Some tests are known for them...
But if you have used this test in the past and not had this experience, I think it would be odd for it to happen now. What kind of test was it?

Was it this kind of test?
If so, I think you have a good chance. I don't want to get your hopes up but when I was pregnant the line took long (less than 10 minutes, but more than 3) to show up. And this was even after a digital confirmation.
Test again in the morning!

Okay, well I'm going to venture to say that it's an evap (just to be conservative). The fact that the line is PINK is a great sign - but let's try not to get your hopes up too much just in case.
You MAY be pregnant. Test again tomorrow with FMU.

It does not count after 10 minutes because the dye will bleed.

go out now and get another test - get it with two in the box and do one tonight and one tomorrow.
you are still early though - 9DPO is VERY early...it does happen - but it's the exception - NOT THE RULE...
