Need help with feeding this kid - please!!!!
I don't know if he is sick of the baby food or what - but the last couple of days he has been knocking my hand away - and spitting the food out at me.
He has had some real food and I'm wondering - does he just not want the baby food anymore? I am fine with giving him real food - but am just not sure what the heck to make him at this point. He is 9 months on Friday.
I go to the ped tomorrow so hopefully I will get more of a guideline of what I can really give him to eat now - but, it is just so frustrating. It is not fun to have Sweet potatoes and turkey stuck in my hair.
Was this your experience - that once they got a taste for the good stuff - they didn't want babyfood anymore?

I don't mind cooking for him - I get so frustrated though after spending 20 mins of fighting with him - that I just give up. Tomorrow at the ped I am going to ask about cheese and eggs. And, I think tomorrow will be the start of solids for good. We'll see!

my son is 10 months, and wants nothing to do with baby food anymore. but he is now at the stage where he puts something in his mouth, and spits it out...this happens a few times, and then he will eventually eat it. He also blows rasperries with it (like yogurt and such).
Its crazy, but fun! Try the finger foods....pasta, cheese, grilled cheese, mac and cheese, I betcha he'll love it!

Same for us...and then she'll also start rocking back and forth in her highchair.
Oh such fun.

Every book I have read said babies love to "Stop eating" at around 9 months. Its the age, and all the new things he has learned.....
I would try more table foods...Im sure the ped will help you on that one..they all seem to have differing advice so I wont even start with what ours says

Great, well, Jack is right on schedule then!
Looks like I have to place a Peapod order asap.

Re: Need help with feeding this kid - please!!!!
My nephew is a month younger than Jack and going through the same thing. DD on the other hand is like a hoover vaccuum . For dinner she eats whatever we have. So far she has had: chicken cutlet, pasta & broccoli with garlic and olive oil, meatballs, potatoes, string beans, chicken soup (she slurped the broth and all), lentil soup, banana and I started to give her regular oatmeal. I still give her jarred veggies and fruit for lunch. If I am lazy for dinner or I am not cooking then sometimes I will give her jarred food but she won't eat anything that has meat in it from a jar now that she knows what the real stuff is like. She also only has 1 tooth.
ETA: I use the pamper chef hand food chopper to cut up everything. I like that I can control how fine I want it to be.

Re: Need help with feeding this kid - please!!!!
pssht, lets trade. Justin's the opposite. He hates any Level 3's or real food, he fights me and doesn't eat it or gags and throws it up. He hates the consistency.
We're still working with the stage 2's and he's a happy kid.
We started milk this week and he hates that too, he got his mother's palette for sure.
I've been chopping up everything small and less chunky in my food processor thing and he seems okay with that.....
