Need honest opinions on a dress for a wedding.

Would you ever wear a dress like this to a wedding or does it just not seem dressy enough.
I tried it on and loved it! I felt so fancy. Chat Icon
But I just don't know if it will cut it for a wedding. Now I look at it on the model on the website and it doesn't look as dressy.
I always have the hardest time shopping for a dress for a wedding. Chat Icon External Image

I think with the proper jewelry and shoes it will look very elegant, so yes.

That's what the sales lady at Nordstrom said too.

I agree as well. I would probably wear VERY high heels and dramatic earrings (I don't think I'd wear a necklace with the dress b/c of the neckline/shoulders) or a cuff bracelet. It's very nice!

I perosnally would not b/c I'd wear a dress like that to work -

I appreciate your honesty. This is what I was thinking now that I'm looking at it again. I have to think about it some more.

Here are the details of the wedding..if it helps any.The ceremony starts at 4:30pm on a Friday)The ceremony and reception are both at Gurney's. I've never been to a wedding there before and I know that it's not going to be casual but I'm not sure how formal it will be KWIM?

It's very pretty but not wedding.

Something a little more evening would be better.

I think dressed up it will be fine, but I'm not sure it is ideal for a wedding. Just a touch too casual, imo

agreed.

if you have dramatic jewels/accessories, that would probably work well. and if you feel great in it, then rock it!

I agree very high heels, dramatic earring, no necklace and probably your hair up and a great clutch. I see this being timeless and sophistacated.

This is MORE than fine for Gurney's - I have been there several times... very casual ! If you dress it up with shoes and accessories you would be more than dressy for Gurney's. So much so that I think you could even do the dress alone, no accessories, and be fine! HTH!

REALLY? That's great to hear and that helps me a lot!! I knew it wasn't going to be super formal. My mom was telling me to wear a dress that I got for my friends wedding who was married at Russo's on the Bay. I knew THAT dress was too much for Gurney's for sure.

I think it's a little work-ish, but paired with the right hair, heels, and jewelry and it's perfect for a wedding!

Re: Need honest opinions on a dress for a wedding.

Thanks for all of your help ladies. I'm going to get the dress. My nephews are being baptized next month so if I don't wear it for the wedding, I'll wear it then. I just love it so I'll find some place to wear it. Chat Icon

Thanks again! Chat Icon
