Need Ideas for a weekend Get away in Late October-Early November
HELP! LOL Im usually good with ideas...but Im stuck. We wanna plan and book something for the late fall...
Any suggestions on a weekend get away for about $750 tops? (without spending money)
Are the Poconos too much $$$?
What about someplace differnet? Canada or someplace south??
Obviously we need somewhat close since we dont have too much $$ and only the weekend.

Mystic Connecticut. The Steam boat inn - Located in the heart of Mystic.
My wife and I and another couple went last winter, and we had a great time. The Inn was really nice. I hear it is 5 stars. They give you free breakfast, and free cookies at night. They also offer free soda, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate all day.....
The other benefit of the inn is the view....It is located right on the water.
ScottHere is their website - highly recommended from me and someone else on LIW that recommended it to me
Special Package Click here
We got this package and went to the Daniel Packer inn for dinner. The salad was amazing and so was the Filet Mingion
Mystic Experience - $103
Includes
Bottle of wine upon arrival
Gift Certificate for dinner at one of three restaurants (Daniel Packer Inn, Anthony J’s, or Bravo Bravo)
Two tickets to either the Mystic Aquarium or Mystic Seaport

Re: Need Ideas for a weekend Get away in Late October-Early November
Im actually planning a 3 day trip to New Orleans the first weekend of November. Air and hotel for 2 pp came to about 700. That is for several 3 to 4 star hotels on burbon street.

I went to Mystic 2 years ago. We stayed at a cheap hotel, not a nice one like Scotts, because we only slept in the room. We went to Foxwoods during the day, and then that night we went to Mohegan Sun. The next day we walked around Mystic and went to the aquarium there. It was a very inexpensive trip, much less than $750... but I guess you can use that money for gambling then! I think the casinos were each about 1/2 hour away from our hotel. We did both because it was our first time there, but I definitely liked Mohegan Sun better.

About 20 minutes away. What we did was we spent the week from monday to thursday in mystic, and then on friday to saturday we went to the microtel inn and stayed there one nightbecause it is less than a mile away from Mohegan Scott

Mystic is great. We went 2 years ago and stayed at The BestWay inn suites..it was ok. Like Julz said, your only there to sleep. We did Mohegan Sun (much nicer than Foxwoods), Mystic Village (went there again yesterday), the Aquarium and the Seaport!

Re: Need Ideas for a weekend Get away in Late October-Early November
A group of us did Salem for Halloween about 5 years ago. IMO - don't waste your time. It's a very commercialized town - and for the money they charge, they could really afford to do so much more with what they have.
