weekend getaway ideas
Our anniversary is at the end of October and I am looking for a weekend getaway idea for my husband and I to celebrate.
We love the outdoors, small towns, good restaurants, etc.
Any ideas?
TIA

I suggest Easton, Maryland. We just spent our 1st Anniversary in this small, quaint town and had a wonderful time. We stayed at the Inn at Easton, here is the website:

Also, I posted our experience on the Newlywed Board with pictures. Here is the link:

If you have any questions, please FM me.
Have a Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!

Re: weekend getaway ideas
We just got back from a long weekend in Montreal (we stayed in Old Montreal). It was so relaxing - and reminded me very much of a European city. Cobblestone roads, outdoor cafes...good food, friendly people and the dollar goes a bit further up there right now.
We flew - tickets were relatively cheap - around $220 each, after taxes & fees. But I believe it's only an 8hr drive - and driving north this time of year is always nice.

What about the Monhonk Resort in New Paltz, NY? I've never been, but we'll probably take a weekend sometime soon to check out the place.

Re: weekend getaway ideas
the surf club in Montauk or the Montauk Manor.
We use to go into the city for weekend getaways, we always stayed at the Marriott Millenium down by the WTC, and then we'd eat, drink, and walk around all weekend ( I think we spent most of our $ drinking, we'd stop at every cute bar/lounge in So-ho for a drink), the city is timeless!

Re: weekend getaway ideas
I have the perfect place- the Villa At Saugerties. It is a B&B run by 2 20/30 somethings who were artists from NY but wanted a quieter life. It attracts a young crowd and is designed very modern. Every room has a different theme. Its also about 10 minutes away from Woodstock which has great restaurants and shops and amazing art galleries. DH and I went last thanksgiving weekend and had a blast. In October you can see the leaves changes- it should be beautiful.
