Need ideas for preschool snacks/lunch...
Jack is starting pre-school in a week
I can't even get past this....
but, I digress, I need some suggestions for snacks to send him in with. They don't supply any food and are a peanut free school.
What do YOU send YOUR toddler into pre-school with to eat???
so, he has oatmeal with a different flavor of applesauce mixed in every morning for breakfast usually followed by some dry cheerios. I don't know that we'll have time in the morning for all the cheerios.
snack ideas (10am): apple slices fruit dry cheerios yogurt (but they have no refrigeration) cucumbers gerber crunchies
lunch ideas (11:30): cold cut & cheese sandwich (he'll eat most lunch meats) puffs
normally he has fruit at lunch, but they eat earlier in school and go down for naps right after
I just feel like it's so boring....but they have no microwave and no refrigerator, so i'm limited.

Re: Need ideas for preschool snacks/lunch...
Everything you listed I would send in even the yogurt depending when he would eat it. I sent it in last year all year. They start at 9:30 and would eat it at 11:30 and he never got sick. I shop at Wegman's and they have yogurt smoothies that are in a juice box and come a straw. So I will send those in too instead of yogurt sometimes because my DS is a little messy still when he eats it. Maybe you can find those.

My kids only do snack at school but here's some other things I send in addition to what you do. I put a freezer pack in their lunch bag if something needs to be kept cold.
pretzels (just check the packaging, some are made on a line with peanut products and not allowed at our school) other dry cereals (ds loves corn chex, dd thinks frosted mini wheats are a snack) crackers rice cakes string cheese goldfish applesauce once in a while I throw in a 100 calorie pack of cookies 100 calorie pack of pringles chips those fruit gummy snacks (the character ones)
ETA: I forgot to say that our school doesn't allow things that are choking hazards, like popcorn, grapes and carrots.
