Need ideas-sweet 16 location near Lynbrook
We are starting to plan DSD's sweet 16 for next January. She is thinking about a "metropolitan" theme. We need a location that can hold about 100 people and will let us decorate. It needs to be fairly close to Lynbrook. Any suggestions would be great!

Price range????? there are a lot of VFW's and places like that in the area.... you decorate and bring in the food or do you want more of a catering hall type of place?

To be honest I do not know the area at all so I'm open to everything at this point. She's hoping for a Saturday night so I think catering halls might be too $$$

There is a VFW on Merrick road and there is an Elks Lodge also on Hempstead Avenue both in Lynbrook
There is a Knights of Columbus in Oceanside (next town over) on Atlantic..I believe it is one of the nicer ones

I have heard the Knights of Columbus in Oceanside is veryyy pretty. I know people have had weddings there. Check it out!

Re: Need ideas-sweet 16 location near Lynbrook
My niece is turning 16 in April and I just started helping her and her mom plan (I'm unemployed and bored, so they asked me ). She looked at a Knights Of Columbus and they wanted $500 for the place, $100 to use the kitchen, $150 for it being a Sweet 16 for a Security guard. Food prices were ridiculous.
I talked SIL into calling a friend at a Local Fire Department that has a room upstairs, they have a room for $100. She can use it through him. Saves over $750!
My niece is doing black and white theme. Everyone coming in black and white and she is going to be the only one in color.
