Need lunch ideas for daycare
I need some lunch ideas to send with DD to daycare. So far...she gets cheese/turkey, or cheese/bologna, and other coldcuts. Usually either a fruit or yogurt to go along with that, and then an afternoon snack of goldfish or graham crackers or something of the sort.
I'm getting tired of sending her with the same things. I need things that she can feed herself and that are easy for me to pack!
Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Need lunch ideas for daycare
Is there a microwave to heat things?
I will send hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pastina,or left over's from the night before. Gerber graduates sells those pasta things in a cup you can heat up. We've never had them but they look convienent.
Pretzels, fruit cups, fruit (blueberries and raspberries), or animal crackers.

The following are in heavy rotation for my kids - some may not be suitable for small kids:
Pita chips Pretzels Fruit Kabobs (sliced fruit on a stick) Dry Cereal (usually Cheerios, Kix or Chex - they love it) Raisins Cheese (little slices of mild cheddar cut into different shapes). Peanut Butter and Crackers Ants on a Log (Peanut butter spread onto a celery stalk and sprinkled with raisins) Oatmeal Raisin cookies Ritz Party Mix String cheese Yogurt tubes Drinkable yogurt Fruit Cups Jello Stars Apple slices with Peanut butter Soba Noodles with pieces of tofu

Re: Need lunch ideas for daycare
I have to say I do alot of pasta, wheat and the tri color pasta - cold pasta too - with parm. cheese and carrots and a splash of salad dressing, she really likes it. i DO turkey and cheese. Waffle and fruit. Egg and brocolli omlette. They do have microwave where DD is so that helps.
and always some kind of fruit.

Re: Need lunch ideas for daycare
Good ideas ladies...thanks.
Some of these things she has had...I just never thought to send them (like chicken nuggetts, gerber graduates, pasta).
Maybe I will try giving her a jelly sandwhich over the weekend and see if she likes it
