Need 'meal' ideas for my 1 year old.
We officially switched DD to whole milk from formula, and I just feel like she's not getting enough to eat. All she'll really eat, and finish, is her oatmeal mixed with some sort of jarred baby food, and her yogurt. This morning I tried giving her some natural applesauce with cinnamon--NO GO. Then I tried giving her some waffles. She ate a couple of bites, and that was it.
What are some 'meals' that your 1 year old loved that I can try??

At that age DS was in love with tiny cut up veggies, anything he could hold. Broccoli, baby corn, carrots, even spinach.
He loves pancakes and french toast as well, and of course french fries

Re: Need 'meal' ideas for my 1 year old.
Perogies and a side of sweet potato or zuccini
one egg scrambled omelet with diced broccoli, ham, and shredded cheese (she doesn't eat the whole thing, but most of it)
diced up chicken nuggets, diced sweet potatoes, and cut up strawberries
chicken noodle soup with veggies in it or pastina soup with cut up turkey meatballs
toasted english muffin 1/2 and a slice of melted cheese
mashed potatoes with steamed/smashed carrots and peas (I add some milk to it to make it smoother)
DD always has yogurt each day. Sometimes with lunch...sometimes with breakfast.
DD likes waffles or french toast too for breakfast too.
DD doesn't like meat so much but I keep at it.........

Re: Need 'meal' ideas for my 1 year old.
my girls are 1. we started the table foods a little late around 10.5 months, I was just nervous they were going to choke. In the beginning they were picky and wouldn't eat much. We have been doing it now for 3 months and they pretty much love everything. Keep trying, eventually it just clicks and they start to like/eat more.

At 13 months, Sean eats anything and everything. His favorite are eggs, sweet potatoes, ANY kind of pasta w/ any kind of sauce, chicken any way - he's not a big beef eater, but he likes meatballs in sauce. Sometimes he'll eat pork - String beans, yogurt, applesuace, eggplant, zuchinni, grilled cheese - thankfully, for now, at least, he'll pretty much eat anything

Oh, a great quicky!!
Get the diced up fruits in syrup. Drain the syrup and rinse the fruits.
(I don't like the syrups, but you get all the mixed fruits)

How do you make the mac and cheese with squash?!
DD loves... Grilled cheese pasta with sauce pizza turkey burger with cheese fruit - blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, bananas cheese sticks mac n cheese yogurt with fruit
Other than that, she's pretty picky!

Re: Need 'meal' ideas for my 1 year old.
You can make your own, or the one in the box, I've done both. If you use the box it has to be the one with the cheese sauce.
Basically you steam and puree butternut squash, and you mix it right in to the mac & cheese. It blends in really well, and makes it more creamy.
1/2 cup for the box mix.
1 cup if you're making 1lb of your own.
I've also done it with sweet potato, but I think the squash blends a little better.
