Need MS WORD help ASAP!! LONG and CRAZY TIA!!

I am pretty computer literate but I am at a loss here. On our old desktop computer we let the kids play in Word. Well they must have hit some key I know nothing about.

Now my DH is taking a class that I took already and the work was saved on the desktop in Word. I just went on to print out the work and every sentence starts with what looks like a Paragraph symbol ( like back in elementary school your teacer would make one where the new paragraph should start)in front of it and there are little dots between each word.

I closed it up and just tried to see what a new document would look like if I type and the document has the symbol there and it stays there fter I start typing. I hope this makes sense. Anyone know how to get rid of this? I've never seen this before and I cant figure out how to get rid of it. Of course DH needs this for the class that ends on Dec 31st. Nothing like waiting till the last minute honey!!

Did you try to print it? It is actually fine. They turned on a toolbar that lets you view your editing marks. It won't print with the dots or paragraph symbols...it's something called "view all characters" or something to that effect

try ctrl+shift+8

you may of turned on formating showing..

On my word it shows the paragraph symbol just to the left of the % size of the text on your page. It's below help, to the right. Not sure if your word is set up the same but it's in one of the toolbars as well. HTH.

eta: it shouldn't print out those symbols.

Thanks ladies! I'm going to try. I"ll try printing it out and ee what happens. Of course DH was like I thought I could just cut and paste it. Well honey you just might have to type it!!!!!! Just be THANKFUL that your DW kept all the work !!!
