Need new makeup recs for aging skin
I'm 36, soon to be 37. I've always been a big makeup girl but my skin has taken an awful turn the past few years. I have a lot of hyper pigmentation. No wrinkles but I'm losing elasticity. I need foundation or something that will even out my skin tone but looks natural, lasts past lunch time, and doesn't make me look overly made up.
Any suggestions appreciated

Re: Need new makeup recs for aging skin
I have recently discovered Estee Lauder's new Double Wear- it's called Double Wear Nude Water Fresh foundation. It has the staying power of the original with out the heavy matte look. I love how the original covers everything and stays all day but it dries the hell out of my skin- especially in the winter- because it's too matte a finish. This new one is very thin... much more of a sheer coverage. But it has a more dewey, satin, skin like finish. When it's on, you feel like you have nothing on. It looks very natural too- not like a face of makeup.
For the hyper-pigmentation though, you will probably have to go over those areas with a concealer. I use Revlon Photo Finish concealer and it covers very well.
Another great cover up is IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness- it covers EVERYTHING very well.

Thank u this is good to know. Loreal double wear has been what I've been using but I feel it flaking lately and drying out my skin. Definitely interested in the new one

Yes the original is great for oily skin but it's way too drying for me. Especially in winter . The new one is much more hydrating and also a lot sheerer a coverage but it does build well for more coverage

What I have learned is that it’s not only the make up you use on your skin, it’s what you wash your face with and put on to hydrate before even putting on the makeup too.
It’s actually more important to have the skin primed then anything else. I’d recommended going into a Sephora to get some samples of products that they recommend for your skin. Try them out and see if there’s a difference.

Try too faced peach foundation. I know it’s sounds trendy but it has great coverage and it’s so moisturizing. My skin looks much more youthful when I wear this foundation. I also love their powered it gives the skin a really nice flawless look.

My gf sells Younique and I love their liquid foundation... it looks airbrushed on. It’s about $39 bottle and worth every penny!

Also I started using Mario badescu facial spray and it makes a huge difference in the way my makeup looks. It’s makes me look much more fresh and hydrated.

Re: Need new makeup recs for aging skin
I'm in my early 40s and absolutely love IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer. I just apply it to any marks I have and blend it out. Sometimes that with my Laura Mercier Translucent Powder is all I need. On other days when my skin is a hot mess I use Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Foundation or Make Up Forever HD Foundation but for the most part just the IT and setting powder.

This also. I use a foundation primer and it prevents settling and caking in fine lines.

I've used MAC Pro Longwear Concealer for years now. It's amazing and covers everything. Lasts all day too. Love it!

Sounds like you need hyaluronic acid to help your skin retain water which helps the elasticity. I use a simple cleanser - Algenist something or other - then REN Hyaluronic Acid lotion (toner), and then Sunday Riley Water Enzyme Cream and it has made a world of difference.
