Need opinions.. would you think it was weird if..

You were looking for a service, and had someone's website, but the persons phone # wasn't on it, and you had no choice but to email the person through a link on the website??

I have my phone # listed on my website but honestly its actually MUCH easier for me and FASTER for me to get back to people Via email then when they leave me messages on my phone ( Since I usually have a 2 1/2 year old screaming in the background and can't always answer!)

Would you think it was weird? Should I take it off or just leave it?

some people might think its weird but what you can do is say on your website that its easier and faster to get a hold of you via email because your normally not by the phone something to that extent that way people dont call you but they feel more at ease that there is a number there

I would think its a little odd and I am in a similiar situation.

Even though email is largely used nowadays I know myself I like to actually speak to someone.

I would suggest one of two things,

1) What I do, since I work at home with a 16 month old, I have a two line phone - one for personal one for business. It has 3 mailboxes. So I leave a business message on the 2nd line (ie, "I am on the other line or away from my desk....") and if it is not a good time to answer the phone which is often! LOL I can call people back.

or

2) Just stress on your website that their email to you will be returned by an actual live return phone call.

I'm not sure the nature of your business, put perhaps you can create an online form for visitors to complete and submit.

I totally understand since I have children at home yelling and screaming in the background...it seems like once you pick up the phone the yelling startsChat Icon

Some people feel more comfortable talking with a live person rather than through email though

What if you kept the site as is, but put your # on the signature of your email? that way, after the initial contact, if they feel more comfortable calling you, they can, but you won't get a ton of phone calls from people who aren't serious about using your service.

I would add a line that says something like please use email for the quickest response.

For that type of business, I always preferred email. That way you have everything in writing. I think alot of clients would be happy with that, especially if you are very quick with the replies.
