Need pediatrician recommendations please - north shore Suffolk County
We love love love our ped but they are just too far away, the traveling is getting to be too much with two kids.
Anything in the Northport/E. Northport.Commack/Haupaggue/Smithtown area is perfect. If you don't mind, please tell me why you love your ped - I am so sad to be leaving ours! TIA!

They have opened the office for me on several occasions on a sunday just to see Frankie when he was having bad breathing issues. They call back right away. Two young female doctors. Right on 454.

My sister usues Smithtown Pediatrics and loves them.
We use them too and are very happy. I know at least 5 other families who use them and the only complaint I have heard is that they dont really do delayed vaccinations. I dont know if its a practice wide thing or just specific drs.
ETA: Also as a HUGE time saver, there is a pharmacy in the same bldg...love to be able to just walk down the hall and get my script without having to make a special trip! And its a small pharmacy so they actually explain stuff to you unlike my local CVS

When we lived in East Northport we went to Dr. Gunduz and Dr Moerk. They are GREAT!!!!!!! I wish we could of stayed there but it is just too far. They moved locations about a year ago and she is now on Larkfield Road in East Northport, just north of 5th Ave. The number is 757-5604.

LB, we use Branch Pediatrics in Smithtown. 300 Middle Country Rd. I have been going there for 8 years. We usually see Dr DeSanto but we Love Dr Richard Ancona too.979-6466

We use them too, LB. Very happy there. In fact, *I* was a smithtown peds patient, as were all of my siblings and cousins.

Forgot to add, I love my ped Dr Valmassoi. She seems to really know my son even though we rarely come. She is very nurturing and talks to him which he loves! My DS has "asthma symptoms" meaning pretty much every cold he gets he lands on a nebulizer sometimes with steroids she calls the day after to follow up with him.
They always fit me in. I have shown up in the office without calling (DS feel out of a shopping cart) and they got me in with my Dr in about 10-15 minutes. (yeah he was fine by the time I got to the drs!) 90% of the time even for sick visits I get in with my ped even though its a big practice with 9 drs (I think thats the #)
The times I have called to speak to my dr about DS she has always called back within about 30 mintues.
My only bad thing is that the ONE time I called the emergency line they were NOT quick to respond....I think I got a call back from a nurse lke 3 hours later. Luckily it wasnt a REAL emergency. I can't say thats the norm because I only called that once.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Berman at Mid Suffolk Peds. They have an office right on Motor Pkway in Hauppauge. He's just great!!!
Edit - They have office hours 7 days a week and there is a pharmacy right in the Hauppauge bldg. if you need Rx filled.

I went there my whole life and we go there now with the boys....we see Dr. Keith Ancona....love them!

Same here. And they have gone out of their way to stress to me that if I have questions or need them after hours that is what their service is for.

We do too! Our main doctor is Dr. Valmassoi. I also really like Dr. Martinez. They have very good hours, and are open on Saturdays. They also have a on-call nurse that can anwser questions after hours. I have called at 3am when DS was a newborn. Usually the office will follow up with you the next morning after you call the on-call nurse to set up an appointment or check on your DC. THe pharmacy in the building really comes in handy. They also have large sick and well rooms.

Same here. We use Dr. Sosulski & we are really happy with him. My sister-in-law recommended him so I asked my Dr. about him & he said his kids see him as well. Apparently a lot of Doctors use him for their kids.

Ditto! We go here as well and I LOVE them. THere office staff is super helpful and sweet and SO on top of things. They have always gone above and beyond. They are quick to return calls after office hours. They are open 7 days, 365 days a year, even holidays. Love the pharmacy in house too, so convenient, especially when you dont want to schlep a sick little one in and out of the car.
We see Dr Kee there and I adore her! We have seen others for sick appts that were last minute and we have never once been rushed out of an appt, they will stay for half an hour and answer questions if you need. The nurses are beyond sweet and so good with the little ones.
The waiting room also has a sick and well area to keep coming into contact with germs to a minimum. I think Ive only had to wait more than 10 minutes on 2 occassions and one was a major holiday where they were squeezing us in to an already shortened day. Otherwise, I rarely wait at all.
