need prayers not ttc related
Hi everyone. i havent been on this board since sunday. my family came to visit me on sunday and all the kids with my sisters and brother in law went to apple and pumpkin picking. I decided to stay home to help my mother out cooking. My grandma stayed as well bc she has very bad arthritis and cannot walk.
My grandmother said she was feeling hot so i was helping her take sweater off. She sat down and blacked out. i called ems and by the time ems came she was awake and aware of her surroundings. Because of her ekg they had to bring her to the er. We went to brookhaven (closest one) she had a-fib. they gave her meds and her heart converted back to normal. ONE BIG BIG problem the nurse did. instead of giving her 5ml (i believe its ml) of heprin they gave her 50! over a 4 hr course.
I OVER HEARD THIS FROM THE NURSES STATION. no one notified us and they were just explaining it to the dr who came to check on her in the eveing. apparently this happened in the morning and i found out at 8pm at night. I am so upset and furious. thankfully her blood is coming back normally again but now they say she has h&h is low and that needs to come up before they release her. I know shes always had iron problems and her drs in brooklyn thougth she had a bleed somewhere but she just went for a colonoscopy and endoscopy and everything came back clear.
She is a little ol italian lady who doesnt speak any english and they are poking and prodding her every which way. My mother and i have been in the hospital 24/7. My heart breaks looking at her in the bed not knowing the nurses ****** up while she smiles at them and says one of the 10 words she knows "thank you" after they poke her again.
Please pray for my grandma. she wants nothing more to go home.
Sorry this is so long but ive been so upset and writing this made me feel better!

OMG I am so sorry to read this.. I pray she fully recovers w/no effects of this ever happening!!

wow...that is messed up....Brookhaven is the worst hospital ever, I swear.
Sending many prayers your grandmother gets out of there quickly.

OMG - I pray your grandmother gets out of that hospital quickly. What a screw up. Have you said anything to the doctor?
