Need Recs for water issues in the basement
Looking for recs from those with wet basements who had them fixed. I did a search on here and there seems to be a lot of people who had issues that were fixed but no recommendations on who did them.
Everytime we get heavy rains we have a lot of water in the basement. Part of our basement is finished and I never see water there, it is the unfinished part that seems to be getting wet. TIA!

is it your gutters? we used to have a huge problem in our basement until we realized there was a section of our gutters that were clogged and water was pouring out and then into our foundation.

Re: Need Recs for water issues in the basement
Complete Basement Systems. We had them dig a french drain and install a pump down there last March, and it has been dry as a bone ever since.
We tried everything else first, gutters, regrading in a couple places where there was no slope away from the house, but it didn't help at all. We're in an area with a high water table, and a lot of people have wet basements.
I only wish we did it sooner--it cost money, but we lost our carpet, sheet rock, molding, etc. while we were trying everything else. That said, I agree, look at your gutter system first, it's a cheaper fix.

Re: Need Recs for water issues in the basement
We called ACM Basement Waterproofing. The guy was very nice, and professional. He came out to the house and gave us an estimate on french drains. It was over $6k though, so we decided to explore other options.
We knew we had issues with the grading of our yard, so we called in a landscaper - Munch Landscaping. They regraded the entire yard, 2 sides and the back so that it sloped away from the house. They also installed a dry well in the backyard and both of the gutters have down spouts that go into the ground and then pvc pipes lead the rain water into this dry well. There are also grates inside the window wells with pipes leading to the dry well and a small grate in the middle of the yard to prevent rain from ever pooling around the house. This was not a cheap project by any means, but we knew it needed to be done anyway so we went this route and hoped it would solve the water issue and it has.

Re: Need Recs for water issues in the basement
We were getting alot of water, it was a pitching issue with our grass along the house and also some cracks in the foundation of the chimney (we could see where the water was dripping in). We had a cement path put along the house with proper pitch, they also tarnaxed the chimeny before doing the cement. It has been completely dry since and we have had quite a few heavy rain storms since.
If you want to go the french drain route, we almost had ACM come and do it. We really like them and if we ever needed to do drains we would call them!

We used E&M Waterproofing Co, Inc. They were awesome!!! He knew what he was talking about, his price was very fair and he provides excellent customer service.
