Need Sleeping Advice

Good Morning, Ladies!!

I am so confused about my son's sleep patterns at night and i don't know what to do. If anyone can help me, it's you, ladies!!

1. My ds is on an amazing eating schedule during the day. Like clockwork, every four hours he eats 5 ounces. At night, he is up crying for food almost every 2 hours starting around 1:00 am but he only eats around 2.5 ounces. No matter what i do, i can't get him to eat more. Now i'm thinking that it might be that his bottles during the day are room temperature but at night they are cold (I keep them in a little cooler).

2. He is a restless sleeper. I put him in his crib with his head to the left and, when i come in in the middle of the night, he could be completely flipped around. I am worried that he is going to get himself in a position where his face is up against something and he won't be able to breathe. I have an idea on how to solve this, but i want to see what you all think.

Re: Need Sleeping Advice

You might be right with the temperature of the bottle. Maybe you should either try heating the night bottle up or wean DS off of the warm bottles during the day (make them cooler & cooler). If DS can go 4 hours during the day then DS can certainly do it at night too.

Call me crazy but I never worried about DD getting her nose up against something and not being able to breath. Even if I push my nose against her regular bumpers, I can still breath. Even if I put her blanket over my face, I can breath. Outside of that, I don't have anything else in DD's crib that would pose a problem. I know some people get the breathable bumpers and rave about them. If that would make you more comfortable, go for it!

I hope the nights get easier for you Chat Icon

Re: Need Sleeping Advice

DD used to be up at night looking for a bottle.. when we feed her she was eating next to nothing... I started giving her the pacifier when she was fussy, it took about a week and now she sleep from about 10- 5 or 6...

Your son is probably not really hungry if he is only eating a little.. Try giving him the paci...
