Need some advice ladies....
My girlfriend called me up and wants to have my husband and DS over for a Xmas get together ...very small just us and another couple who are expecting. My DS will be about 2 months old by then and she has a newborn and a DD who is 3. My son would have one round of shots by this time as well...my question is..would you take him out? Its my first child so needless to say I am a tad paranoid...we really want to go we just want to make sure we are doing what's best for him..
What do you think?

Re: Need some advice ladies....
I am crazy when it comes to germs. ANd didnt take Nicholas out until after he was 8 weeks old and had his shots.
I would go. Just make sure the toddler doesnt touch the baby too much and wipe their hands when you go home. PLus make sure no one int hat house is sick or even has a cold.
BUt if you are not comfortable, then do what is best for you and your family!!! I still make my poor grandmother wash her hands and Nicholas is almost 7 months old!

I would go too. My boys have been out an about with family and friends coming over by 4 weeks. With the holidays i just know it will be impossible to shield them from the germs if there are any...so I just kind of put it out of my mind and hope for the best.

Yes, I would go. I was going to my sister's house when Molly was only a couple of weeks old and she has 4 kids, age 1,3,6,13. It's good to get them out and socializing.
Keep in mind that the if the other children are vaccinated, they aren't much of a threat of passing along something that DC hasn't been vaccinated for.

I think you're fine, I'm sure if her little ones were sick she'd let you know and you could make a call at that point. But I'd def. plan on going!

Re: Need some advice ladies....
I took Ali out when she was one week old It was Father's Day - so we had to. But I made EVERYONE wash their hands like a thousand times. She was passed around like a football and I knew she would be - but that is why I had everyone wash their hands. There were like 20 something people there
He will be fine

I took Jordana to a restaurant when she was about 2 weeks old and she has been out every day ever since. We considered flying with her when she was a month old and the doctor said it was fine as long as no one put their fingers in her mouth.
If you are breastfeeding you have even less to worry about because she gets your antibodies.

I would go. I took my daughter out long before she had any shots. She was around other children too. Just make sure no one is sick and have anyone who holds him wash their hands.

Re: Need some advice ladies....
The chances of a vacinated adult or 2-3 month old child giving your child a disease is VERY, VERY unlikely. Your child is MUCH more likely to catch a cold or flu. So the shots that they get at that age would not prevent illness.
I would go, but I would also speak to the other mother THAT day and confirm that her child has NOT been sick and that no one attending the party has had a cough, cold, flu or stomach bug in the last week. If they did I would not attend. I also would not pass the baby around much or allow small children to hold the baby.

Re: Need some advice ladies....
I would go. I would be clear about the rules on touching the baby (only the feet), make everyone wash their hands, etc.
