Need some advice/opinions from moms that pump
My supply seems to be getting lower lately. I used to be able to pump 4oz from both breasts at each sitting (10-12 minutes) but now I am getting 3oz if I am lucky. I have the medla pump in style advance.
Is it possible that my supply is slowing down and will end soon? Is there anything I can do? Would renting a hospital grade pump be better?

when did you notice it? this morning when I pumped I had less breastmilk then in the afternoon (it was back to normal)... maybe it is just one time thing? I am drinking an herbal tea to help me with milk production...

- Are you drinking enough water? - Are you pumping as often during the day or are you waiting longer in between pumping times?

Re: Need some advice/opinions from moms that pump
Drink a full 8oz glass of water during pumping. Increase your pumping to 15-20 minutes. Your AF might be on the way..that will lower supply. Are you dieting at all? Change in diet can decrease your supply as well. Let us know if these things help at all.

Re: Need some advice/opinions from moms that pump
Hi, I pumped 2* a day at work for about 3 months. I became quite good at it if I do say so myself, LOL. I found I got the most as soon as I got to work, even if it was less than an hour from the time I nursed my DS. I also pumped 3-4 hours later and did pretty well too ( I usually got about 10-12 ozs in the morning and about 8-10 in teh afternoon). WHat worked well for me was to have loads of pics of DS on my desk, sometimes I would call my DH and make him put my DS on the phone so I could talk to him (although he only cooed and made noises) it still made me happy. I also sat back and relaxed on the days that I didnt relax and tried to work while pumping I never got as much, I still did ok but not that good. Oh and also drink lots and lots of water it helped me to. Let me know if theres anything else I can help.

Re: Need some advice/opinions from moms that pump
Thank you all for responding - this is really important to me.
I noticed this on Sunday and it has continued.
I pump every four hours for 10 to 12 minutes but last week I had DS and missed one pump on Thursday and Friday.
I wasn't drinking as much water as I should have so I have started to drink more and will continue to do it. Hopefully it will help. I am also going to try to pump every 3 hours now.
Is there anything else I can try before calling a LC?

What about renting a hospital grade pump, those suckers are strong!!!
Call an LC and get some advice over the phone!!!

Re: Need some advice/opinions from moms that pump
I think the time between pumps has a lot to do with it. I started pumping every 2-3 hours and noticed a big change in my supply...I was making almost too much so I started to increase the time between pumps and now I'm back down again in milk production.

I have been pumping for 7 weeks now - do you think it's still possible to increase my supply?
