Need some guidance for my DH

I'm in a bind about my DH. Basically, he has not worked consistently since 2006. During that time, his mental illness was undiagnosed and then misdiagnosed. He is in the hospital now. When he gets out, I want him to go to a job coach and I want to figure out how to word his cover letter and resume to explain about his mental health issues. We live in Suffolk. Does anyone have recommendations of where to go? I was looking at the Clubhouse in Ronkonkoma. I also noticed Jobs+ in Nassau County but I don't know if he is eligible since we live in Suffolk. Any help and guidance would be most appreciiated.

Whatever you do, DO NOT mention his illness in the cover letter. If you felt it was necessary, you can explain the gap with something general like, "please note that the 2 year gap in my professional experience was due to some personal issues that needed to be managed". OR don't mention it at all in the letter, rather, if it comes up during an interview (and it might - (I always ask about gaps) - at that time, he can say "At that point, I decided to take some time to manage a personal issue which has been resolved".
