Need some help, thoughts, advice

There is a very good chance DH will be getting a job offer in VT. We have both talked about moving up there, but as I start to think about things I get worried and should I be worried about these things:

1. I need to be able to get a engineering job up there, a bit worried about that b/c I don't think there is a whole lot in that area or I just can't find stuff on the internet. Do we move there with just one job and anticipate I will find a a job???

2. We want to try for #2 around Oct./Nov. of this year so that means I would start a new job and then 9 months down the road have to take maternity leave?? Do you think that is wise?

It isn't like we need new jobs, but we have talked about moving up there b/c the cost of living is much cheaper then CT, we can get so much more. We want more land, we love skiing & snowboarding. Ah, I don't know, it is a huge deciision and I just needed to vent.

Is the cost of living so much cheaper that even if you don't find a great job you will be better off? Sounds like you'd be taking a very big risk with your career. Can you call in a babysitter and devote all available time this week to job hunting for yourself?

Is it near the NH border? I don't have any idea where in NH this is, but my mom's friends have lived in Merrimack NH for many, many years and have worked for defense contractors that whole time. So I'm sure in that area you'd be able to get an engineering job pretty easily.

Good luck with your decision, it's beautiful up there, and such a nice comfortable pace of life.
