Need some help...HSG related
I spoke to my OB on Friday and she wants me to schedule a HSG.
Can someone tell me where I need to go? All she said to me was St Charles and Mather or to call my insurance and see how I am covered for, but I don't even know where to begin
I am in Eastern Suffolk (Exit 68 of the LIE).
Thanks
Also, can you tell me what to expect, I am so new to this, and very nervous

Re: Need some help...HSG related
I went to Mather to get mine done, and my dr. did it there. It was over w/in 5 mins and I would suggest taking 2 motrin an hour before hand, as well as some afterwards if you feel pain. I was uncomfortable for about half an hour to an hour afterwards but then felt fine. HTH! GL!!!

Re: Need some help...HSG related
Again, no advice on where to go (sorry!), but I'll tell you this - it was over in about a minute, 90 seconds tops. Definitely take Advil or Motrin beforehand (600 mg). Any pain or discomfort I had only lasted through the procedure, which was quick. I know people have cramping afterwards, but I had none. The Advil helped though.
Good luck!

He didn't tell you where to go? usually they have a place where they recommend you to go.
I just had mine as well. Definetely take 2 motrin prior to going (hour before)
Also bring a pad with you because the dye may come out and/or you may spot for a little while afterwards.

Re: Need some help...HSG related
I just called my DH's union (all of our benefits have to go through them first) and just found out they do not cover anything with Infertility
But thank you for your responses
