Need some ideas for a baby shower location. (sort of long, sorry)
Looks like the list keeps on growing and growing. It’s going to be a Jack/Jill shower and as of now, one side ALONE is 70 people. I understand that there is a certain average percentage that doesn’t show, but we’re still looking for a location that can accommodate approximately 100 people.
Looking for somewhere is Nassau or Queens. While a full service location would be preferred we’re not opposed to renting a place (VFW, K of C, etc) and making the food, but want a NICE place. We went to one place (VFW I think) in Queens and it was kind of dingy.
And most importantly, we’re trying to keep costs low. Some places I have called or looked online have been pricey and that is deterring us. As of now, cutting the list is not an option. We even thought of having at someone’s house (we know 3 places w/ BIG yards) but we’re afraid of the weather and such- too risky.
PS, we’re looking at mid-September
We would appreciate ANY and all suggestions.
TIA!!!

If you don't mind me asking, how much are you looking to spend?
I had my baby shower at Table 9, in East Hills on Glen Cove Road. You can take the Northern State or LIE directly to GC Road, so it's easily accessible for all.
They have a private room upstairs and can easily fit up to 100 people. Service and food were excellent!
I highly recommend them.

Verdi's of Whitestone Verdi's of Westbury (bigger location)
They are very reasonable and hold a large group of people and its full service.
I had my shower there (westbury location) it was $40 pp
Included was: Champagne punch Passed appetizers salad pasta entree tray of desserts on each table cake espresso/cappacino bar
You dont have to have all that and it will be cheaper.

Thanks for the recommendation.
Not sure what exact price range we are in, but we did want to have beer/wine (enen though I can't have any) and most places that's an additional $8/pp on average. A couple places have pitchers of beer and carafes of wine, at $12-16 each.

My shower was at Verdi's in Whitestone, we had a buffet. It was I think $35 pp and we had beer/wine/soda, 10 hot choices and a while table full of cold stuff (salads, cod cuts, etc) The large room upstairs accomodates up to 150. The food is AMAZING!

If you wanted to rent a place, check out the VFW Hall on Willis Ave in Williston Park...we checked out both the upstairs and downstairs rooms. I was going to book with them, they only wanted $14 bucks a person for beer and wine, but my mom just wanted a place she could walk into and walk out of and not have to do anything. You can bring food in from wherever you want, but you have to supply silverware, plates, decorations, even your own coffee, but, it's cheap so it might be what you are looking for! Also, if you want a restaurant, check out Arturo's on Jericho, they have a ton of different price options and the food is great!!!!

Re: Need some ideas for a baby shower location. (sort of long, sorry)
My first shower which was huge about 75-80 people (it was Jack & Jill) was held at The George Washington Manor (Roslyn).
It was in the large space with all windows, so it was very bright and open. We had a sit down dinner with wine & Champange punch included. I believe the price was about $27/person. Everything was great & there was more than enough room for everyone & the gift tables plus the table for the favors. I highly recommend them.
Good Luck!
