Need some ideas/suggestions...
So as i've mentioned before, Matthew's birthday them will be playhouse disney and the 4 shows i'm focusing on will be the mickey mouse clubhouse, my friends tigger and pooh, handy manny and little einsteins. Then i'll have other misc. decorations posted around from the other shows but those 4 that I mentioned are the main ones.
My question is how should I do the cake? I'm not baking it myself but I was wondering how the design should be...

I would try to do the cake mainly Mickey since the theme is mickey's playhouse. Then if you can have them put the other characters on much smaller or depending on how many people you have, i would do the mickey cake, then do character cookies

Well actually it's a playhouse disney theme...
But I was thinking of doing the cake just mickey since it's DS's favorite show. DH doesn't agree, only because we are thinking of having a Mickey Character at the party. So he's like "To do the cake mickey and then have mickey come then we should have done the whole party mickey"...which he doesn't want to do cuz he likes the whole playhouse disney theme. So what I was thinking is maybe do the cake with another show like say Little einsteins and have the Mickey character come...

What about a cake with four panes...each one with one of the themes? So if it was a rectangle there would be 4 rectangles - one with the mickey mouse playhouse, one with my friends tigger and pooh, one with handy manny and the last with little einsteins.
I wonder if you could get those cake transfers with the design made smaller to fit each section.

That's an awesome idea. I would have to ask the bakery. They did an awesome winnie the pooh design last year for DS's 1st birthday. I brought in a picture well actually a napkin with the winnie the pooh design and then created it on the cake...this was the picture on the napkin and this is how they did the cake...I loved it..

Wow! The bakery did a great job! If you had the four images I am sure they could something really neat with the pane design.
