need some TTC advice! (a bit long, sorry)

so, DH & I were getting ready to TTC...I went off BCP 6 months ago, let my body regulate (which took about 4 months to work itself to a more normal cycle). now circumstances have changed and i am starting a new job. i dont like the idea of ttc while at a new job, but i also don't want to go back on the pill. how long would you wait after starting the new job to officially try? right now we are not being totally careful but tryiing to avoid more fertile times. I know there will never be a "perfect" time to have a baby, but up until this point i thought we were ready....now this new job has be totally unsure. TIA!

edited to add: i never formally introduced myself....im nicole, just moved from LI to NJ and so excited about the idea of TTC, whenever it may be! good luck to all!

Depends on the job for me. But for an average job I would probably wait 3 months or so to start trying.

This is tough. I know you don't want to hold up your life for a job but there could be repercutions you should be ready for... such as you might not be eligible for maternity leave. They might not have a favorable feeling for someone who just walked in the door and got pregnant right away.

That said, follow your heart and I believe everything will be fine. Things happen (or don't happen) for a reason.

Good Luck!

Welcome.....what kind of job? There will never be a "perfect" time and I agree with that but it also sounds like you're not not trying either! I think you've already made up your mind that ttc is more important, and that's ok! Good luck in both ttc and the new jobChat Icon

thanks! im starting the new job on monday--i work in healthcare--and while this is a great job, the only reason i left my old job was because of the move to NJ(d/t my DHs job). i guess its just hard for me bc i felt like we were ready before we moved.
