need suggestions fast-having company tonight

we're having friends over at 8:30; i have hot appetizers I'm making to go with drinks my hubby will be mixing. This sounds like such a stupid question but how soon should i start it? I'm thinking I'll start it at 7:45/8; and hopefully they'll be finished by the time they arrive. If not i can keep it in the oven warming??? Just don't want to start too soon and then it's cold by the time they arrive.

Are they the type of people who are on time? Every blessed person that I know is late to every single event, so if I tell people to come at 2, I'll start heating up the appetizers at 2 because I know they won't be there for a good 30 minutes.

If they are on timers, I'd say 8/8:15 as fine. When they come in, I'm guessing you'll be saying hello's and will want to have a couple of minutes before you take the food out.
