Need suggestions for affordable, all inclusive resort
We've been to Cancun and would like to try someplace new.
Hoping to spend no more than $2500 for the two of us, 5-6 nights. Might be unrealistic of us. Going in early-mid August.
Any suggestions? I was looking into Puerto Vallarta...but the beach stinks there.
Thanks!

Club Ambiance Jamaica. We paid $604 for each of us for 6 nights. It was nothing fancy but it was clean and the food was good!!

I'm not sure if you can get it in that price range, but we love the Couples resorts in Jamaica! I stay away from Mexico after a bout with Montezuma, but I love Jamaica!

Iberostar in Dominican Republic. They have a few locations to choose from. I have been to several of thier properties. Never a complaint. You can check www.tripadvisor.com for reviews.

Re: Need suggestions for affordable, all inclusive resort
I'd try looking in Dominican Republic.
Also, have you thought about a cruise? It's not 100% all-inclusive, but all food and entertainment is included. You can go on a week long cruise for WAY under $2,500 total!

Re: Need suggestions for affordable, all inclusive resort
Since you're traveling in August... I'd try to stick with safer places in terms of weather.
I've heard the "ABC" rule for August... Aruba, Barbados, Curacao.
Also, does it have to be all-inclusive? You might be able to find a package for Aruba for around $1500, then leave yourself $1000 for food/activities.
I think a cruise is another great idea... Expedia has some great deals. There are a bunch for less than $500 per person, then you will have the rest of the money for airfare and activities.
Good luck!

Yes - this is where Melissa (MJDoc or MrsPJB) is going in May - she said it is rated really high and that it is affordable.
Also, we are going to Jamaica in December and spent a little over your budget (about $2800 total) for 8 days/7 nights so I'm assuming you could get it in your budget for the amount of days you want to go. We got a deal through Sandals - the airfare, booked through them directly, was SO cheap I couldn't believe it and we got an upgraded room - the whole vaca was 50% off plus one free night!
Check out their website and you can compare the prices and check out what rooms are what rates... They have great deals if you are flexible with your property (they have quite a few in Jamaica) and are flexible with the room you want!
HTH!!!!
