Need suggestions for weekend/summer house and possibly retirement
We would like to look into a house as a weekend/summer house that possibly could be a retirement house.
- Anything within 3-5 hour range top from LI. - With local activities for kids/teenagers - Local activities for adults (I can't be in the "woods")
I know about PA but what are other options.
Side note: I hate the cold weather so no places with 3 or 4 feet of snow every day.
Any recommendations for states/towns?
TIA

Ithaca and the Finger Lake region is GREAT. About 4 hrs from LI. There are TONS of wineries. There are great restaurants. Ithaca is a cool college town. It does get cold in the winter but only about 5-10 degrees cooler than here.

I'd recommend the Jersey Shore - such as Point Pleasant, Belmar, Long Beach Island, Cape May --- all really great places.

I'd stay away from anything north of Westchester as winter weather can be fiece and cold with snow and weather!
I'd recommend any please south of NJ - Delaware, Maryland, VA.
