Retirement gift suggestions?
My boss is retiring in June, and I think I am going 1/2 with another coworker for a gift.
He does not drink or golf, he and his wife are retiring to Tennessee. They are going to Alaska in 2007. He is a big history buff.
Any suggestions?

I feel funny about giving him something with a dollar amount on it, for some reason.

Re: Retirement gift suggestions?
they have no hobbies at all?
ETA: Are they moving to a house, or a retirement community? how about something for the outside of the house, like a firepit, or a pot bellied stove?

I have no idea what else you may get him? He's big on History how about a history mag. subscription?

Re: Retirement gift suggestions?
I was thinking maybe a travel book on Alaska, and maybe some stuff he would need for his cruise- but it is a "tentative" trip. But that gift is really suited for being for one person.

There is nothing else he likes. Maybe a nice wallet or money holder w/ his initials?

How about a nice pair of binoculars....they'd be great to use in the mountains of Tennesse and great to look at things in Alaska too!!
