Need to find a home for a dog....Updated 11/16
OK - While I was doing the "Breed Day" at N. Hempstead Animal Shelter on Sat. a girl came who had found a German Shorthair Pointer wandering the streets the previous Wednesday. She is keeping him at her home, but can't keep him cuz she has a Chow who wants to kill him. So right now, she has him locked on the third floor of her house with the Chow in the first two floors.
I met this dog and he is an absolute sweetheart. I'd say he's about 80 lbs., neutered and the vet tech said he's about three years old. He's very sweet and friendly and loves the car. I am trying to help her find him a home, preferably someone who doesn't already have a dog.
If anyone is wondering German Shorthair Pointers are the same family of dog as Misty (Weimeraner) but with brown/white speckled coats.

UPDATE: Great news!!
First I have to thank Karacg - her sister was going to take Harry for sure.
And I want to thank everyone else who inquired about him....
But, the owners came to claim him!! They live in Queens and have been doing an expanding search and when they got to Pt. Washington the shelter gave them this girls number and when they came there the dog went crazy!!! So he's back with his family now!!! Image Attachment(s):

OMG, what a beautiful dog. I wish I knew someone but I don't. I want to take all the doggies.....I wish I could.

Kara's sister might be interested and I got one FM from someone else.
If he is okay with Misty AND Espresso we are going to keep him until we can find a home.
The sad part is three people have tried to contact the German Shorthair Rescue on LI and NOONE has gotten back to any of us.
I feel so bad for him cuz he is such a sweetie.

Unfortunately, DH and I can't take him because we already have a pooch. DH and I have a German Shorthaired Pointer and he is AWESOME! He is a great family dog and so gentle around children. DH grew up with a pointer who was the same way. You are so sweet for reaching out and trying to find this beautiful dog a home. God bless!

Hello again....
Okay, she didn't bring "Harry" over our house cuz he's getting along great with her Chow now so she doesn't want to bounce him around. Which I think is a great idea.

Made my day!!! I wonder how he wound up where he did, but I am so glad his family has him again. You are wonderful!!!!
