Need your help UPDATE (mother and newborn in need)

My sister just called me and told me someone her friend works with just had a baby and she has nothing. She is only 19 and her parents basically kicked her out of the house and the father of the baby wants nothing to do with him. The baby is in the NICU b/c he was born a month early but he is doing ok. Would anyone be willing to donate anything? Like I said she has NOTHING. Anything would be greatly appreciated. I do not know this girl but when I think of that poor liittle baby I want to do something.

Most of my stuff has been passed on but I do know there are organziations that help. I'll try to find them

Is she in LI?

Has she considered adoption? or Going to a church? They could steer her in the direction of getting the help she needs (finding a place to live, public assistance, free health care for her child, etc.) IMHO, she needs these services more than my old baby stuff. She is in my prayers.

I really don't know much about her. I will pass your info on to my sister though.

Samlove thank you so much. I really don't even think she has a place to call home I know she is around the East Islip area b/c she worked in the CVS there and she is in Southside hospital.

She had a boy. I could either pick the stuff up or you could drop it off to me. Whatever you feel comfortable with.

I wish I lived there. Honestly if I didn't have all girl stuff I would ship it. God I hate hearing stories like this. While I hope my daughter doesn't get pregnant before she's married or in a committed relationship I can't imagine ever kicking my child out, especially one who needs her parents help now more than ever. This is so sad.
Does NY have Goodwill Thrift Shops or ARC Thrift Shops? You can often find some decent baby stuff there for cheap, really cheap.

I have a ton og baby girl clothes, but she had a boy. I'm not sure I have much else to help out, but I think its great you care so much

I have 3 garbage bag full of clothes all ranging from birth to 12 months.....all boys stuff

I have some stuff too. I have a brand new comforter/bumper set. I actually have been looking for someone in need of stuff because I am hesitant to put it in the goodwill bin.

I have boys clothes from 0-6 months. I could aso give a bouncy seat and an infant car seat.

I have some things she is more then welcome to. I have some towels, clothes, bottles, nb toys and books that are all new that I would gladly give to her. Just let me know where to drop them off or send them.

Update - I just spoke with my sister and her friend went to see her and told her everything everyone wants to donate and she started to cry. THANK YOU EVERYONE!

I don't even know this girl and I am jsut so happy that we could help.

She won't need it yet but I have an old umbrella stroller that she can have. I had a girls so I don't have anything that would be for a newborn boy. She should definitely be finding out abotu WIC and other things that the county can definitely help her with. The county will also help pay for daycare. Let me know if you have any questions, my Mom works for the county and I can always ask her.

You are so nice to do this for someone you hardly know. I wish I could help clothes wise, I have only girl clothes and all of our blankets are girl related as well. But I would like to make a donation to help out. Let me know how.
