I could not agree more. I am so sick of people complaining about welfare and then continue to support those in office who will not allow sex education in the classroom, are anti-abortion, and help create this NIMBY idiot mentality. They are thought the first people to
b!tch about it though.

Now that I am informed that to have a HFH you have to have a job, I'm all for it. I did not know about the qualifications.

I think your neighbors are alarmists, it wouldn't upset me to have a H4H house in our neighborhood

I don't think your neighbors are alarmists. I think they are heartless, selfish a$$holes. I'm so disgusted I really don't know what else to say.

Although I wouldn't create a committee without informing myself, maybe they just think what I was originally unsure of - "that HFH provides housing for people on Welfare(abusers)"

I think they are ignorant.
And you should print those FAQs about H4H and hand those out to all your neighbors.
And you should definitely alert H4H about the meeting.

If this were going on in my neighborhood, I'd inform Habitat IMMEDIATELY so they can be at the meeting. I'd also be at that meeting to support Habitat.

Omg, that's horrible!! You certainly aren't naive, your neighbors are real azzhholes with their NIMBY mentality.

One of these days they'll need help from a charity and suddenly their tune will change, kharma will serve them due justice!!

I think your neighbors are ignorant. Just because someone needs financial help to own a home doesn't mean they are going to ruin the neighborhood. Money does not buy class.

But that's the thing the only help they get financially is their mortgage is interest free. They still have to have a job to be able to pay the mortgage. Her neighbors need to get the facts before they jump to conclusions.

I agree. They probably don't have the facts. Before this thread, I had no clue what H4H was about. I do agree H4H should be at a town meeting to provide facts b/c people are probably acting like that mostly b/c of lack of info.
