Needs some ideas on where to have a baby shower in Queens
Trying to help my SIL with locations for her BFF's baby shower. BFF lives in Queens (as does most of the friends/family) and SIL wants to have the shower there.
It's going to be a Jack N Jill shower, so the guest list is around 100. They want some place nice, but affordable.
I have the following . . .
Il Nocello Ristorante, Whitestone Roma View, Howard Beach Matteo's, Howard Beach London Lennies, Rego Park Joe Abbracciamentos, Rego Park Terrace on the Park, Flushing Meadow Riccardos, Astoria Barosa's, Rego Park Sly Fox Inn, Flushing Woodhaven House, Woodhaven Parkside Restaurant, Corona Luigi's, New Hyde Park Giardino's, Douglaston.
Any feedback on those locations?
Any other suggestions???
TIA!

Off te top of my heaad I don't think these will fit 100 people:
London Lennies Giardino's Barosa's Sly Fox Inn Luigi Woodhaven House Matteo's (the upstairs room is awkward - kind of split in two over the stairs)
I would definitely look into:
Howard Beach - Roma View, Vetro by Russo, Danny Schezwan Rego Park - Joe Abbracimentos Astoria - Riccardo's - I found this place like an old fashoined catering hall - outdated decor. Whitestone - Verdi's
Terrace on the Park holds weddings & proms but would definitely fit 100 people. Not sure if the cost would be wedding-like though.
You can have her look into VFW of KoC halls also.

I had my bridal shower at Giardino's and it was great. Good food and affordable.
I would agree with the above poster that a lot of those places won't accomodate 100 people. Not even sure Giardino's can. Terrace on the Park definitely can - might be too big. Sly Fox or Luigi's would have to completely shut down for you. And although great I wouldn't expect Matteo's or Parkside to be affordable - at least not according to my wallet!
I agree about checking out Verdi's in Whitestone - I've been to very nice parties there and at their Westbury location. I'd also check out Jonathan's Restaurant in Garden City Park. Went to a nice shower there.

Joe Abbracimentos is my FAV Italian restaurant!! have tons of family parties there and the food is awesome! Barosa has a small room downstairs but my sis in law recently went there to see about booking a baby shower and they said they could close off the restuarant for a party depending on how many people and the time of day. She inquired about a Sat. shower for about 30 people. I don't think they can handle 100. I had my engagement party at Matteo's and used the upstairs room. We had 60 people and they all fit on one side of that split room. 100 would probably fit nicely but the party would kind of be separated. I had my bridal shower at Woodhaven house and it fit 35 people nicely in the room that is off to the side. It isn't entirely private though and def. couldn't fit 100 people.

Il Nocello Ristorante, Whitestone-- I would go with Verdi's in Whitestone over this place--Verdi's is IMO prettier and has awesome food! This place in new and I have heard mixed reviews
London Lennies, Rego Park--LOVE but I would guess it would be $$$$
Joe Abbracciamentos, Rego Park--awesome Terrace on the Park, Flushing Meadow--LOVE had my wedding here..might be more $$ then the others though
Barosa's, Rego Park-LOVE don't know if it is big enough though
Woodhaven House, Woodhaven-awesome
Parkside Restaurant, Corona-awesome but probably $$$
HTH
