needs words of encouragement.. 4 months and its not any better
I shoudlnt say its not any better but its not significantly better as i hooed. Chris still hates the bottle still throws p more often than not. He is just a figety sleeper. He goes in his crib but i am in there half the bnight patting his back giving him his pacifier. i used to take him in but am trying to break that. i realized he doesnt sleep any better on my chest than in his crib so i might as well break him now of that habit. I have to go to work in three weeks abd i am praying its better by then. What can i do for the sleeping? The spitting up i can take. I hate to say this but i am looking forward to going back to work. i feel like i need the break from them well more him. She is an absolute doll and always has been. At this age she was sl;eeping 7-6 evetrynight and doing tht sicne 7 weeks. i know every kid is different i just hate the fact that i am not enjoying him as much as i should. any advice?

are you putting the baby to sleep on his back or on his belly? i know belly sleeping is very controversial, but it may be worth trying for your sanity's sake.
every child's temperament is different...
hang in there, it will get better

Have you tried having him sleep in something that is elevated such as a swing? At this age, I'm a big believer in doing whatever works for them. Any habits that they may form now are not life long and easily changed.

If he has reflux issues, I don't think belly sleeping will help and may make it worse. If you think he's suffering from reflux, he should be in an upright sort of position.

does he like his car seat? My ds slept in the car seat for at least 2 months.
Have you tried gripe water? This helps with digestive issues. What about different bottles? nipples? Are you using ready feed formula (this worked much better then powder because of the thickness) What about the brand of formula?

i use neocate and dr browns bottles. I try not to do cereal in te bottle but it helps him not to spit up. he is also on fruits now too.

I was the same way with my DS.....it took him 8 months to finally sleep decently.
He slept in his swing for awhile IN OUR ROOM.
His major turnaround was going from Nutramigen formula to soy formula.....

Re: needs words of encouragement.. 4 months and its not any better
In the beginning I had some issues like that with my son. Our pediatrician suggested giving him a small dose of malox since he seemed to have some acid reflux isses. They also suggested changing formulas (i don't know if you are BF). We had to switch from Enfimal to Nestle Good Start and it made a huge difference.
He is now almost 9 months and every once and a while we have an issue, but not anywhere close to what we had been dealing with.

Re: needs words of encouragement.. 4 months and its not any better
My DD is 6weeks and she has issues surrounding feedings and sleeping... We were not sure if it was reflux, gas, or colic so we tried a few things and for whichever reason she is doing SOOO much better now but I know what you mean about wanting to go back to work. It was a rough couple of weeks but DD is perfect now -We switched bottles to Dr. Brown -We use only ready to feed (the ped. said power formula can cause a lot more gas so we only buy ready to feed) -we had to switch to soy formula -she gets more tummy time (keep on her belly) -we massage her nightly (suposed to losen the gas bubbles)
She has been great this whole week. Feedings and spit up were insane and I was getting so upset. She would scream and cry and throw her arms and legs up/out..so upsetting but whatever we did worked. I hope it helps, GOOD LUCK!
